it is not about that "I THINK there is lack of feedback" - there is lack of feedback. look how much edits, updates I did. you can not I´ve deleted them

my PR is not the best..., nevermind, thanks guys for support. and interest.

Remember to fix the cloned part on the background of the lower right legend! (in other words the parchment)
About your question on borders... to draw clear borders on gimp you need only 2 things:
1- set a good brush (from 1px to 3 px) and adjust the options using the dedicate window into the tool box.
2- draw a path a stroke it using the brush tool with the option setted in #1 instead of using the standard line option.
Anything else is just play with options :P

There're other things I would like say about the map and about your current thoughts, but now it isn't the right moment, so i'll do it this evening when I'm not at work 8-[ :-$ O:)

Here again, :)

Now i have the time to talk a bit about this:

I'm sorry, but I don't know what this is supposed to mean?

just some maps have new post/notice/advice every day from several another people, here it is very rare... but forgot it.

btw, GW (graphic workshop), FF (final forge).

First of all let me say that i'm very tempted to ask you which are the maps you're referring to, but i've learned that compare two different maps or their way to go through the foundry is just waste of time. Every map has is "own life" and every map needs to find its way through the foundry.

theBastard wrote:just I have not feeleing that there is enough interest in my maps...

Try to think positive, you've reached the graphics workshop, I lost the count of the maps I've seen that could never even dream of reaching the graphics workshop. Be proud to be here!
Also what danryan said is something important, infact only a small part of the CC users use the forum, of which only a small part visit/post into the foundry, so your current audience is small, really small. In addition you should consider that more a map climbs to the summit and more the discussion takes a technical approach, probably a bit unpopular, but it is necessary to have high quality maps to play. If you want to increase the visibility of your work try to add a banner to your signature like many other mapmakers. ;)
Anyway, this map has certainly its followers and if currently there's a lack of feedback is because there's no so much work to do imo.
So, without considering the other small things to fix I listed in my previous post, the main issue I see on the map are colors. Test your map on vischeck and try to find better colors. (GIMP has an option to test colorblind vision --> http://docs.gimp.org/2.6/en/gimp-displa ... ent-vision )
It must be said, the forge is not so far... :)

Just get it done man! I can't speak for any one else, but my lack of feedback stems from the fact that I think this has been forge worthy for a while.

While I like how the map looks with darkened nonplayable areas, I think that if you keep it dark you ought to get rid of the nonplayable area names because they're near invisible.

Other complaints are about the location of names on borders... Pernau and Schlochau being the two major offenders. For Pernau, move the town up a tad and then move the name under it so it isn't on the border. For Schlochau, use your clone tool on the Duchy of Pomerania color and just make it so there is constant orange beneath the word Schlochau.

no worries, guys. I´m happy to be here, and still thinking and working on next maps (so I´m positive... :D )

will see how to solve colourblind thing. just question, why is this colour test necessary when map will be playable how it looks now...?

will edit also Helix´s notices ;)

So that it'll also be playable for colourblind people.

Merry Christmas to everybody!

EDIT: nothing bad against NYC map, but I´ve tested it throught vischeck and it looks impossible to read for colourblind people (or not easier as Baltic Crusade map...) :-k

Regarding the vischeck, I think it was something we've only recently started doing due to the problems created by, well, maps like NYC.

Also, my suggestions were forgotten?

If you're using GIMP, you don't need to use vischeck - you can just go to View -> Display filters and set colourblind filter on. It saves a lot of time...

Anyway, could you make the sea a bit darker and the land area a bit lighter? It would help with clarity - especially as Papal Legatus is almost the same colour as the sea now...

The colours are fine I think... medieval people had all the same colours we have today ;)

The only thing that looks sloppy to me now is the coloring around the letters in the lower right legend.

The only concern that I have, and this just occurred to me, is how the numbers are going to look on top of the castles and whatnot. I think they should be recognizable still... do you have a version with all the numbers on it yet?

I think the numbers will be fine, but if not, you can add very low opacity white blurs on top of them.

the shields were not enough to read which colour is for which region bonus (by your notice). this coloring around letters are better as the stripes in previous version, I think...

the numbers must be added to small version (630x600) or to big one (840x800) and when the big one is reduce also numbers are reduce?

will add letters now, so if they will look bad thanks for advice :)

btw. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYBODY :D
