Nobody is more shocked by this development than me. I don't know whether to be happy or not -- the sheer number of games makes this tournament a true ordeal.

Wow, this tourney was a doozy - sorry to be eliminated but glad to have the time back! Now I can actually play some games on maps that I like once again.
Good luck to all moving forward, thanks for the great games and thanks especially to the mods for the monumental organizational task that this one was. Well done!

I've had a busy week with Holloween and then elections but I'll try to get back on track before the end of the week
Hath lost out by one point because I suicided into him in our last bonus game. I did it deliberately, with a view on the bigger picture. I was looking at my opponents for the next round, and realised Hath was one point away from being in the next round in my group. I was already safely qualified, so I took a strategic decision to eliminate someone who I considered to be one of the most dangerous players I have played against.
I was interested as to what my fellow players thought about a move like this. Hath has made it quite clear he is slightly upset by it. Does it constitue bad sportsmanship, or is "all fair in love and war"? And how does that compare with a strategy of just deploying the whole game, never attacking or getting cards, so that you average about 6.2 points a game? This is the first tournament I've played in, so I was wondering what the etiquette was.

Having played against Hath I would say he is one of the best players in the tourney. So I was very superised to see that he didn't move on. I feel that this tourney is more about positioning yourself for points rather than winning any particular game. In the final round It would be smart for players to target the best players for an early takeout thus reducing their point total. This is what you did in this case...you made it much easier for yourself (and the rest of us) in round 3 by eleminating a top player. There are several different strategical appraoches you can take in this tourney and I beleive they are all fair. The points are the only thing in my tourney that will guarantee moving on. You were in a postion to take him out because you where already safely in the next round. For my tourneys this is a legit move. Saying that.. I would be P.O.ed if you sucided me and I lost out by 1 point this tourney requires a big commitment and to come so close is very frustrating.
all main groups have recieved at least their first batch of games
Also 2 more maps have become active so look for them in Batch 4

"Unwritten Rules
Obviously any gross abuse of the game is forbidden. This includes but is not limited to: throwing games or deliberately benefiting from thrown games,..."

Glad to see that fate has intervened to restore the natural order. I look forward to beating Hath in a more direct manner.

Could we add the win numbers to the scoreboard? It would be useful to know the total games won for each player, as this number affects who advances. I'm thinking 4 columns: Round 1 wins, round 2 wins, round 3 wins, and total wins.
Thanks.

Updates posted for all gopups as of Nov.24 @ 2400hrs. As for the game totals I'm waiting for clarification on the wild card pick procedure as there appears to be a difference whether it's total games or scores.

There's a scoring error on group Chocolate. NewVEmpire got 55 points from one game. I don't think that's possible

at this point - all games that have not started have been deleted by the system
the tourney coordinator will need to recreate those games
any games that were still out there - i sent emails to everyone to get them signed up - but some of them have since vanished

just my two cents...this is stated on page 1 in the rules for the tourney:
Round 3
This round will have 24 players split into 3 groups
Top two players move on. There are two wildcard spots that will go to the two highsest scores not already in the final game
seems to me the 2 players with the highest score in round 3 move on - it does not state total # of wins - rather score.
let's not be changing the rules in the middle of tis puppy
