I've had a busy week with Holloween and then elections but I'll try to get back on track before the end of the week
Hath lost out by one point because I suicided into him in our last bonus game. I did it deliberately, with a view on the bigger picture. I was looking at my opponents for the next round, and realised Hath was one point away from being in the next round in my group. I was already safely qualified, so I took a strategic decision to eliminate someone who I considered to be one of the most dangerous players I have played against.
I was interested as to what my fellow players thought about a move like this. Hath has made it quite clear he is slightly upset by it. Does it constitue bad sportsmanship, or is "all fair in love and war"? And how does that compare with a strategy of just deploying the whole game, never attacking or getting cards, so that you average about 6.2 points a game? This is the first tournament I've played in, so I was wondering what the etiquette was.
