You obviously need to expand on the gods thing.
Also the new legend is horrible IMO

the shrines on the old version of the map are much clearer than the new version.
and you need to move the position of some of them. for example, the mie shrine and the word "mie" should be swapped so the shrine isn't hovering over the water. and the aomori shrine can be moved from where it is to somewhere less cramped.
also how did you choose the names for the shrines?
as for the new game play, i'm not sure, it will need more explanation.

i can't see the info for where the shrines are located, but you should change the mie god to amaterasu omikami

so now, u start with only 1 tert adn the rest are neutral? seems a little like feudal imo.
u want us to vote on the new gameplay yet u provide no information on what it entitles nor how u actually play it. u have to explain before we can vote.
i second what kaplow said about ur legends. i cant read the names of continent.
perhaps u should think about changing up the looks of the shrine that can attack any god and teh one that can attack any shrine so they represent the normal kind and these 2 special ones.

Ok guys, I got this right from Telvannia:
Basically, the shrines can attack corresponding Gods. And each God will have a special bonus. Some will give more armies, some will attack different places ect.
That is about it.
Though there is the other variation where aswell as the above the gods are starting positions, but that would take more balancing.

just make sure u have 8 starting positions and gear. i really think this is turning more and moer into televanias idea as we go. its his graphics now his gameplay.

i sort of like this variation to the gameplay:
Basically, the shrines can attack corresponding Gods. And each God will have a special bonus. Some will give more armies, some will attack different places ect.
That is about it.
however, i feel it will need to be expanded on and maybe tweaked because, most people will be fighting for the gods that give more armies.
i dont like the other variation because this is ancient japan, lets not make this age of might/magic/feudal war japan.
i have one more problem with this gods thing, i still cant tell where the gods will go on the map (unless they go in the box legend) and what shrines are which. will u be labelling the shrines and stating the corresponding gods to those shrines?

Thank you Gimil.
We are going to stick with the old game play because we don't want it turning into Age or Magic/Might, we used tisha's background and darkened it alittle but we also keep the old back ground, there is some slite changes also.
New Background:
Old background:
which one do you guys like?

new is much better but the map has a flaw. you have 4 creases that need to be reflected on the map also. what i mean is that the paper is folded and the fold line is visible but then comes the map and the fold line is gone. look at mogul map how it should be.

you can see it...take a sec and look in between(tell me if its still alittle hard to see, i'll see if Telvannia can make it stand out more:

When I first saw this I looked at the Mongol Empire map.

It's not just DiM... I've got my glasses on and I still can't see it... even after you've pointed it out...

I agree. I think it needs to be a lot easier to see.

Ok, i'll see if Telvannia can fix that, though you like the back ground?

i kinda feel japan being an island country should be on a sea background, sorta like brit isles.
this parchment background doesnt really suit this imo. its just not giving me a japanese feeling when i look at it. u should try to make the japan stay true it its japanese culture sorta like how rjbeals used shilvering effect to make his iceland map give u a sense of a true icelandic feeling.

Well, theres not really anything we can use for the Japaneese feeling, theres not that much stuff out there that we can use as a base image for a back-ground or anything.
So what else do you guys think still needs done besides the fold in the paper?

lose the current paper as it isn't very japanish. instead use a rice paper background and decorate it with japan style paintings. like so. but try making it either sepia or black and white or something.
or perhaps choose focal points where you have colour, play with it:

Unit_2 wrote:I need to know what EXACTLY what needs done for your stamp
I'll visit your thread again this weekend, but my initial thought is that I have already said what you need to do to get a stamp in my most recent posts. I think that your map will play quite well... the shape looks like fun, and I believe it will lead to competitive games. The trouble is in the mechanics of the map: how easy it will be to make out the numbers, borders, and titles. These are issues of gameplay as well as graphics.
One major sticking point is that I'm afraid the map will require some major work to make the small map playable. I would need to see a working draft of the small map with two-digit army counts placed on manually (you don't need to do the coordinates yet) before this could be moved along to the Forge. The army counts can bump into borders and such, but they shouldn't bleed into other territories too much and they shouldn't bump titles other than their own, as this would be confusing.
