How is this different enough from your last submissions and previous pangea attempts?
Not a whole lot different, just added some countries.
Other Pangea attempts used actual lump landmass that made it rather unplayable. Mine is at least just after the breakup of Pangea to create more stategic locations. And I haven't received any helpful suggestions on what would make a map like this more playable stategy-wise. I know its nothing great to look at yet.
If I get three people right now to tell me this isn't going to work at all, I'll gladly stop working. I don't want to waste my time either. But I did get a few posts saying to keep going...
Its not about if enough people can tell you if it will work or not.
Any map can work, as long as use use imagination and effort.
If you just come in here with a vague map, and say, "well it sucks because nobody is giving me any suggestions" then it will never work.
To get it off the ground, you need to have a lot of your own ideas.
I might just come on here with a big brown circle and say "everyone give me ideas!"
If you come here with a good, well presented idea with potential, then people will say it will work.
If you come here with a half arsed idea, and say "give me ideas" then they will say it won't work.
It's not hard to figure out.

Guitar-world map
<Working Title> Guitar-World
The number of countries and continent can still vary. This is my first map, and actually i really have no idea how to design a worth-while map because i just installed Inkscape and i really am no good with it. I would like it if maybe someone else could pick up on this or just give me more time to learn the program.
This is how i envision the map. Each continent, which would produce the bonus armies, is a genre of rock music. For example the continent "Classic rock" in which will be the territories "Led Zeppelin", "The Beatles", "The Doors". Another continent, perhaps, 80's metal (containing countries which are named after 80s metal bands). And then of course the continent of "Modern rock" which will probably consist of the most territories and be the most difficult to hold.
I would like lots of imput on how this map could be made. Different unique borders divisions and anything else that would make a great rock-themed map.
Also... what genres would you use as continents and what bands would you put in each genre.
Please help me out i think this map could be really cool if someone knew how to make it

the current territories mapped off are unfortunately random. Again, i really don't know how to design maps... so i really am just trying to throw this idea out here because i have yet to see it.
I could be wrong but no one else has produced this idea yet, has anyone? Maybe the concept sucks... but i thought it was original.
Again Continents providing bonus's would be Genres of rock music.
The countries in each continent is a band pertaining to that genre.
The amount of countries and continents has yet to be determined and anything else unique about the map, again has not been determined. I'll try to work on some more creative ideas myself, but if you guys got any please help me out.

this really should be in the ideas thread for the record.
If you are going to pursue this, I'd incorporate elements of a real guitar as above. That way you can use parts of it as unpassable areas and such. probably not strings, but you get the idea
also, make sure you know a lot about rock and classic/era defining bands because that would be a lot better than just seeing random ok bands in there.

Okay, I understand what you are saying, Sprock.
And this is all I got. Classic map rearranged into Earth 200 million years ago. If this premise alone is not going to work, please tell me so (and why if possible), and I'll stop right now.

it is a map with several images that are chosen randomly. each image represents the same puzzle but in a different way, because some of the things change randomly (borders, one way attacks, neutral zones, starting positions, etc)

actually the puzzles can vary from something really easy like move the box to the right spot to something more elaborate like the incredible machine.
while the incredible machine could prove very difficult to make especially since it needs animations, the push the box puzzle is quite easy.
basically you have the same movement like the RPG map. meaning when you attack from A to B you move all your troops to B and A becomes neutral. it's like switching places.
now imagine each player is a box and has to go to a certain spot on the map in order to win. he will have to go through a maze of neutral terittories impassable borders, one way borders, teleports, etc.
here's a little example. P1 has to reach the start and P2 has to reach the spiral.
let's say P1 attacks the terit above that has a pink marker. that means that's a trigger teritory.
trigger territories make certain actions. each action would be colour coded and paired to the destination teritory. let's say the first trigger is to make an impossible border move in a certain direction to clear up the path.
each player tries to clear his path and in the same time try to block the oponent.
for team games certain triggers will require 2-3 people doing something at the same time to triger something.
also if true teleportation is implemented in some puzzle a player could be required to sacrifice himself to allow his team mate to reach the final goal.

is there anyway to request someone else pick up on this idea and create a map like this? i honestly dont think i know enough about graphics design... again its just the concept i was trying to bring to the table
Could be very imaginative to develop a ROCK BAND theme.

This magazine I subscribe to once made this thing about the history of rock in which bands and styles were stops in a London Underground map. That makes me thing this map would be nice.
As for gameplay, though... it's too compact, and hence would prolly need artificially unpassable borders somewhere in its center. I do not like that.
