Yay Cairns! :D

I don't think I like the new color of Maize Silos. Would it be possible for us to see a selection of colors (including the old one)? I don't know if that involves just clicking on a new color or if the different elements in the map make this much more complicated (I couldn't make a crooked line in photoshop). If we could see them on the map that would be good, or if that's a lot of trouble just some samples of some colors with the texture on it would work too.

, I think this is not the right thing to do to map creaters...to come in at the last minute and ask big changes like you have done here.

Sorry if my comments offended you cairnswk, that was never my intention. To be honest, I just don't have the time to look over all the maps in development and comment on each as they progress. At the moment, the best I can do is to have a good look over the maps that I personally feel might need that last push to get them into Final Forge. I'm not saying that is the case for every map, but generally I'm going to put more effort into studying a map nearing completion than a map in early to mid-development where the foundry works so well.

My comments were only suggestions, and the ones you didn't like were reasonably refuted. In my opinion, the only major change that I suggested was in regards to the height of the map which has been an issue throughout development. I understand your reluctance to make the change and even said in my original post it may be too much hard work at this stage.

Geez, some of you cartographers are a touchy bunch.

No kidding Quench my map! LOL

Okay, back to the subject at hand. I can see where the map height might be a problem. I haven't really looked to see if it is taller then World 2.1 though.

EDIT: Yeah, it definitely isn't. The whole thing fits on my screen for the large map, which it doesn't on 2.1. I'm gona have to say it isn't a major problem from my point of view... But meh.

The small map is 526px tall, compared to World 2.1 at 610px, Philippines at 620px, North America at 506px, King of the Mountains at 548px, Africa at 524px, Middle Earth at 508px, and a slew of other maps at or near 500px tall. So certainly not some new unprecedented level of scrolling required, it shouldn't be a problem.

              Final Forge

---Cairns Coral Coast Map has reached the ‘Final Forge’ Stage. I've revived this thread from the pits of the Foundry furnace and have examined the contents. Nearly every major concern has been addressed. If there are any other current concerns, please make your voice heard. There will be at least two days (but may extend pass that) for you to post any objections; if no one has posted any protest after two days the map will be deemed finished with the 'Foundry Brand' of approval and will be submitted for live play. If after two days there is still discussion going on it may continue until said discussion has reached the conclusion that the map has reached its final and polished version.

Post questions and concerns if any.

KEYOGI, thank-you for your reply. I hear what you say, and hopefully will try to be less touchy in future, now I understand what this whole process is about. Yes, unfortunately, artists are a touchy lot.

Samus, I have provided a selection of about 9 maps below with different colours for Maize Silos in question, inclulding the original colour. I have chosen these colours as they either blend with the map and/or are appropriate to the area and take into consideration the adjoining areas which are not in question.

V33-0 Original Colour - Perhaps my 2nd choice for this territory.
Image

V33-1 this was the previous colour before your request.
Image

V33-2 A seedless grape colour
Image

V33-3 A little more golden like ripe corn
Image

V33-4 - Army karchi - yuk! I think this colour detracts from the tropical colours and makes the map drab.
Image

V33-5 - Strong Fire Watermelon almost Strawberry
Image

V33-6 - Very strong muscatel grape colour
Image

V33-7 - Very dark field green
Image

V33-8 - Light lime green, for overall appeal, and lack of in-your-face aspect, and doesn't drawn attention to it, I prefer this colour best.

Have fun chosing!!  :D

yup- though i like the original one as well, it didnt seem to terrible off. maybe a colour slightly lighter than the original and slightly darker than 33-1 X-P

on the legend - could you make the grey river outlines thinner?

So which one are you voting for here Enigma...33-1, 33-8 or this other colour slightly darker?

umm.. 1st the inbetween one, 2nd 33-1, 3rd 33-8
this colour needs to balance the saturation of the pink of the beaches. which is y i think a colour between the original and 33-1 would be best. the hue could go either way, but the lime green at that saturation might be too bright.

spinwizard, if this was directed at my map, i am unaware of the battle you speak of, so you must be having the battle with yourself. LOL.
And who/what is M8 - are you referring to Map V33-8?
thanks for your thoughts on the texture, I believe you have expressed this to me previously about parchment.

You mean versus your France map? This map started a little over a month earlier. So I guess if you finish your map in the next month you can still win this race that none of us knew was happening. :)
