*insert another post advocating against day 1 lynches* *insert supporting evidence citing Thor's reveal* In serious news please don't reveal anything else about your role thor. @Dakky he was up for being lynched, and with deadline soonish he coulda been speed lynched. Looks like that'll be hotshot now though.

MudPuppy wrote:After finding out that your Thor vote didn't count because you forgot to unvote, you take your current vote off of the 6-vote bandwagon on Masket and, instead of fixing your Thor vote (which would have made 6 votes), you place the only current vote on HotShot because you think it'll be quicker to first get a claim from him and then switch to Thor??? While there are a lot of folks interested in HotShot, even Skoffin is currently voting for Thor.

While I could have understood a HotShot vote either earlier (when Skoffin was first trying to get support) or later (after Thor is pressured to claim), the timing of this vote is questionable.

I said I'd vote back to thor if the HotShot option didn't gain traction. I did think HotShot was the scummier of the two, and while I didn't really think there would be enough votes on him, I figured I could at least try. Worst case scenario, I'd change my vote to thor, as I announced when I made my HS vote. I agree I should have done it sooner, but then again, the clunky reasonning and bad votes on MM came later on.

dakky21 wrote:I don't get it, mod says you're town so you're town. innocent child or such role? You probably are not Gandalf but that just narrows the scum target.. Why did you do this stunt now?

He already claimed being a vanilla townie, so I don't see how it helps scum to have him be a confirmed townie. I think the timing is good because we still have time before the deadline. And we get some info from the votes, even if he's not dead, so everybody wins. And town has more chance to lynch/investigate scum as well. I think thor did the right thing (for once)

My thoughts on the other players. Note that the lowest you are on the list, the more scummy you look to me.

We need to know why BuJ came out with accusations against two players and never followed up on it.

People are leaving the MM train. Is it because MM has gone completely silent? Is it because his lack of contribution? It reeks if nothing else. Skoffin's violent defence is noted too.

For now I will say that they're scum but I feel it's too late for us to actually lynch one of them on D1.

Well Thor didn't handle that the best but yolo. I stil feel that hotshot or dakky are the best options for the day.

@Ragian What's the matter eh? Could it be that it's simply a case of the masket case has poor reasoning and there are better options?

Skoff I am counting on the fact that it'll be really close between HS and MM.
Also to be fair the reason for voting HS is the same reason for not wanting to vote MM (that's how they play). So how much stronger the HS case is, is arguable.

My last two posts were questions about the bandwagons and how dakky announcing he would vote unvote someone could possibly make sense pressurewise.

Otherwise, no I'm not really sure what else I can contribute on D1. Now that Thor is confirmed townie, am I correct that the current popular thought is to lynch either Masket or Hotshot?

I don't know why the mod would give out info about Thorth ? granted I am glad that I was wrong and did not help to hang him, but why did you say that that you might be the great and powerful Oz  ? it just might make you a target for scum at night, UNVOTE ,I am still not seeing the votes against MM so I guess I will go with Skoffin on her vote and see if her hunch was right VOTE HOT SHOT

By the way, sorry if this is a dumb question but is it usual for the mod to announce someone's townie status, especially on Day 1? This is my first forum game so I'm trying to work out what is the norm and what isn't to avoid anymore noobie errors

No, it's not normal for that to happen and I could not say conclusively why it happened. My default assumption would be that Thor has a role with a special ability that allowed him to declare his alignment in the game via the mod. Then there's the part where he, hopefully jokingly, declared himself Gandalf and that is likely where his power comes from. There are all sorts of unique roles a mod 'could' use in a game and sometimes mods just makeup their own roles, but that is not frequent.

unvote

The MM thing is dead (I'm looking forward to my "I told you so"), so we need to move fast. I cannot believe that only a few people are addressing BuJ's claims. f*ck this. Vote BuJaber. Spill it! (People, help me out here.)

Simple. I needed to make the claim to sniff out their scummate, I had ideas but could not be sure. I still think I know them but I'll need more time to see what they do.

For the record I don't have info you don't have. It's just that they were both somewhat keen on participating at the start and then once things got going they became very quiet. My guess was that they had no problem letting Thor / MM get lynched. If they jumped on the wagon near the end they'd get unwanted attention. Knowing that thor / MM would be revealed town by not participating they can later go "see I didn't vote for x; your case was bullshit and I was right"

I was kinda hoping one or both their scum buddies would defend them even thougg I barely made a threat which would show nervousness but unfortunately I couldn't pull a Wing and all I managed to do was rattle a few townies apparently.

MORE IMPORTANTLY - I had a hunch, and things seemed to speed up a lot with the votes so I was worried day would end before I had a chance to post again. I wanted town to know going into night phase who was at the top of my list. Even if only one other townie saw them as scummy with me it could have resulted in some info/ free kill if they had a power role.

Greed is good in this scenario - when you're going against an opponent with an advantage over you you need to take risks where the payoff is far greater than the risk.
If it meant we quickly narrow down the scumsters, I didn't mind grabbing the spotlight.
Maybe I was influenced by how WingCommander plays, but alas only wing can pull off a wing.

I'll Unvote and I'm ready to vote for Flores, MudPuppy, or Hotshot in that order.

Also it's good that you went crazy Ragian. I can now feel assured that my unexpected town read of you for once is indeed correct.

Just to clarify I mean I want to vote for flores or Mud but if I don't get support I'd rather supporr the HS train over the no lynch because that one has a chance of being helpful.

I'm actually curious about this too since i haven't really done anything today at all >,> I pretty much went no lynch and just read everything to see if I can get a scummy vibe ( of which I'll agree with buj about mudpuppy but not as sure about flores)

Posts by day (since 9/9). Hopefully the pic is big enough. BuJaber, Flores, Masket, & I are in top left. While it's true Flores hasn't posted since the 17th, my line is pretty consistent (if not even a smidge more active)... so, the basis for your tell, on me at least, is non-existent:

Image

While Flores is a fine vote for lack of activity, so is HotShot... and I'm more familiar with HotShot's history of flying under the radar. On the other hand, HotShot has been posting at least once a day since returning (and each with some substance) which could either be that he truly now has time to participate as stated... or it's a response to the pressure against him. Since Flores has gone too long without a post, I'd be very open to pressing her for a claim. I'll give her 'til this evening to 'splain her absence and to get input from the others who have expressed interest in HotShot. I also want to re-read the posts she has made and then I'll reevaluate my vote.

In short, I'm good with getting a claim from either but I'm not sure which one we have a more realistic chance of pressuring before the deadline. I would not be OK with a speed lynch of Flores before she responds.

LV, would you please prod Flores (5 full days without a post)?
