Rutgers recently traveled down to Chapel Hill to battle the ACC powerhouse of UNC. A reuniting of old coaches from CC (Coastal Carolina ;) ), Coach Knight and Coach Dustin had been gameplanning for each other for quite awhile. UNC got their fast break working early, pulling an early adanvtage, but an 11-0 run later in the half put the on their "heels". Rutgers slowed down the game to work their half court sets, and UNC was not able to work their transition game that makes them so successful. Rutgers hit some late FTs to pull out a solid 79-69 victory over their 2nd top 25 team this year. Coach Knight after the game: "It's good that we're finally starting to hit the right notes after a disasterous start of the year. UNC is a great team under great coaching, so this one is a cause for celebration! To the bars!"

Looks like WVU has gone into hiding. DePaul is warming up in front of a rowdy home crowd, with no opponent in sight. Scrimmage, anyone?

some of the freebie players are trying to catch up after the holidays. We'll give them time to get back up to speed, as long as they're making progress in that direction.

Texas defeats Arkansas - 75-72 in a defensive battle at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Tx. Arkansas jumped out quick (won game1 in 5), Texas used a run to even things (Texas wins game 2 in 6), and then the defenses battled until Texas made key free throws down the stretch to win (late mixed set to win game 3 in 14 rounds).
