Just hours ago, the mass rally "A WORLD WITHOUT NAZISM" concluded in Moscow. More than 200,000 people turned-out to hear President Putin speak about the ongoing De-Nazification operation in Ukraine.

Yugoslavia and Tito, even though they were Communists, resisted "entanglements" to the Soviets under Stalin.

There was however, some assistance from the Soviet Army to help expel the Nazis in WW2:

The Yugoslav Partisans were able to expel the Axis from Serbia in 1944 and the rest of Yugoslavia in 1945. The Red Army provided limited assistance with the liberation of Belgrade and withdrew after the war was over.

In May 1945, the Partisans met with Allied forces outside former Yugoslav borders, after also taking over Trieste and parts of the southern Austrian provinces of Styria and Carinthia. However, the Partisans withdrew from Trieste in June of the same year under heavy pressure from Stalin, who did not want a confrontation with the other Allies.

All the Communist European Countries had deferred to Stalin and rejected the Marshall Plan aid in 1947. Tito, at first went along and rejected the Marshall plan. However, in 1948 Tito broke decisively with Stalin on other issues, making Yugoslavia an independent communist state. Yugoslavia requested American aid. American leaders were internally divided, but finally agreed and began sending money on a small scale in 1949, and on a much larger scale 1950–53. The American aid was not part of the Marshall plan.

Still can not understand why Ukraine demand any help from US and West, they all have all advantage in manpower in terrain now i belive that also in military equipment they have big advantage. My prediction its that Russian army will collapse in 7 days and that Ukrainian army will conduct big offensive and will crush entire Russian army in 7 days. (these its my prediction according what i see on sources from Ukraine and Western media,, if im wrong dont blame me)

Essentially that post is correct. I did mistakenly say that Soviet troops occupied the former Yugoslavia; I admit that. But Qwert fails, so far, to acknowledge the assistance given to the Serbs by the Russians to help expel the Nazis.

AND honestly, I do not want to discuss Serbia, anymore, especially NOT here. The NEWS is Ukraine, not what happened in 1945 or in the 1990s. I suppose that this is the only place Qwert can get any attention to and about his corner of the world, without Serbia resorting to another round of war. That war is OVER; however, skirmishes and disagreements may continue.

AND on Ukraine, what about the IDEA that Ukraine needs help to DRIVE out Russian INVADERS bombing and destroying Ukrainian buildings, homes, hospital, and more. Oh, did I mention dead Ukrainians, including civilians and CHILDREN? Maybe THAT is why Ukrainians ASK for Western assistance???? YA THINK...??????

Sending only javelines and stingers will only slow advantage of Russians ,will not stop the war. To much talk about love toward Ukraine and in the end Ukraine will be forced to make peace agreement with Russia , and will probably lose Doneck and Luhansk and Crimea in a way that will recognize these changes.

USSR never occupied Yugoslavia… but Yugoslavia was still a puppet state in the orbit of Moscow.

Yugoslavia, Albania and (to a lesser degree) Romania were all non-satellite socialist states. Yugoslavia was even in an anti Soviet military alliance with Greece and Turkey until 1960 and would potentially have ended up fighting on NATO's side if there were a war on Europe.

Not very often I agree with saxi, but that was a plausible scenario.

Boris Johnson has made a good point yesterday. Just a few years ago British people stood up for freedom by removing the tentacles of Brussels from the UK, and today the people of Ukraine are similarly standing up against foreign overlords:

The Prime Minister said Vladimir Putin was in a “total panic” about the prospect of a popular uprising if freedom was allowed to flourish in Kyiv.

And he said that it is the instinct of the people of this country, "like the people of Ukraine, to choose freedom every time."

Although, Russia is also removing the tentacles of Brussels from Kiev? So maybe the Russians are the British in this metaphor? It's a puzzler for sure.

One small difference its that Poland had Signed Pact with France and Britain for protection, we dont know what will be if France and England attack immediately Germany , maybe we will avoide WW2, and that war will be limited ?
We can be blind but everybody from Sudetenland crisis know that war are coming and France and Britain had time to prepare Armies for war with Germany , instead even when war broke they sit and wait on German border, instead to push because Germans virtually dont have capacity to defend western side.

I say from start that West and US dont care for Ukraine are you still not figure these yet? All these talks and so call aid in weapons its only for the show, for domestic audience to say that they are with Ukraine.
From 2014 to start of war they had plenty of time to prepare Ukraine Army and to give a lot of more military equipment from planes to tanks name it,, but from 2014 to 24 february 2022 that was business and Ukraine dont have money to buy all these great stuff for defense.
