To be honest, I would always want to face Tampa Bay if I had the choice of Texas or them. As good as both teams are, facing Darvish is essentially 1 loss in the books and they can always put runs up in a good fashion on any given day. Being a Braves fan, I would be worried about facing Detroit or Texas in the WS.

Atlanta has 4 other problems in front of them before worrying about which AL team will play in the WS.

Personally as a Sox fan I would've liked Texas (Indians are hot and Tampa has pitching depth). Also, playing within a division in the playoffs is never a good idea in any sport...teams are too familiar with each other.

I thought it was fitting Nelson Cruz who came back from his PED suspension made the final out.

My exact Facebook status after the game: "Fitting that the Rangers' season ended with their self-centered PED user, free-agent-to-be, at bat."

In other news, SCREW MLB!!! Put the Cardinals as the noon game on Friday AND stuck them on MLB Network, which no one has!

Cruz sat out 50 games this season, was that too soft for what he did? I agree with you about the pro ball cash cow, fuck MLB... if they truely wanted to be "America's Game" again there would be more playoff games SEEN on national network television.

Much like ESPN and College Bowl Games... FUck THEM TOO!

Yes, all the current penalties for PEDs are too soft. They should have to miss the postseason. They should have their contracts voided and be forced to play for their current team for a year at the minimum salary before being eligible to get a new contract.

I'd like to see this enforced and penalized even tougher and have it also affect post baseball accolades. Like the Hall of Fame and MLB Records, no inclusion or asterisks for cheats. If Baseball wants to clean up it's act? Kick some butt or forget about it and quit this half ass bs.

I was always for "one and done" though that's very impractical.

I think players who used them before they were banned should still be allowed in the Hall of Fame. They were still the best of their era, even if that era involved steroids. Once they were banned by the sport, then people should get left out if they used after the ban.

Pitt vs St.Louis & Los Angeles vs Atlanta
Oakland vs Detroit & Cleveland/Tampa vs Boston

Who's still hot?

No they don't. At most they have 2. LA then whoever wins out of Pittsburgh and StL. The 4 has no relevance.

One & done kills a bulbous cash cow.

Braves and Pirates both even their series at 1-1
while the Sox rip the Rays in Game 1.

I will never understand intentionally walking the bases loaded to get the lefty vs lefty or righty vs righty match up. I understand Paco Rodriguez murders left handed hitters but Mattingly left him no margin for mistake. Reed Johnson had a better average than Heyward but not a better on base percentage. So when Paco got behind in the count I had a feeling he was screwed. You come out of the pen throw 4 pitch's out of the strike zone then have to get your timing back. I have heard this remark all the time from Vin Scully and I bet he was thinking it at that at bat.

Oakland goes deep three times to take a 2-1 series lead over Detroit while St.Louis evened their series at two in Pittsburgh.

Game 3 in Tampa and the Sox are looking to sweep the Rays, while later tonight the Dodgers will try to close out the Braves.

The Rays homered past the Sox to stay alive,
while the Dodgers end the Braves season.
Ouch! The Falcons got booted tonight too.

5 perfect innings and 7.1 no-hit innings......I was REALLY hoping Wacha would go the distance.

No offense, I really don't want the Cardinals to win another World Series. I'm very much afraid it's going to be Red Sox vs. Cardinals and then I won't know who to root for. To be fair, I also hate the Braves and Dodgers. Ah, it's going to be a Philadelphia fan. Hatred for most!

Just another disappointing playoff run for the Braves. I really do not know why we are so horrible in the playoffs now. Even towards the end of our streak of division titles we had already stopped threatening any teams.
