Or just click the Game button above and insert the game number. Or type/paste the number, highlight it and then click the Game button. Or... well, you get the idea.

I've always tried to follow the credo of once the match for #1 is over and posted, then I immediately record the new challenge from whoever has DIBS and repost that DIBS is open. I try to send whoever had DIBS a note to let them know.
I also went back and looked at the Ladder posts regarding MGSteve's claim to have been missed for DIBS...and he is correct. Therefore, I have removed DIBS from bobbythomson and have given MGSteve DIBS.
I don't want to "relitigate" this - happy to have Steve get the chance against Erik.
But I would like clarification of Chuck's reasoning.
If in fact the DIBS are automatic in setting up the new match, the DIBS should be open as soon as the results of the last first place match are recorded. Which is how I originally read the rule - and Elric and Lord's match was posted before I claimed DIBS.
Steve's interpretation is different from mine and reasonable - he thought DIBS were not available until the challenger posted his games.
The question, for me at least, is : "when can one claim DIBS?" Does one have to wait until the PTB (Chuck) says DIBS is open? That is a clear rule. Or is DIBS available as soon as the results are posted of the first place match? Or does one have to wait until the challenger posts his games?
Good luck DUDE. You weren't just tripping! Good lawyers (if there is such a thing) are willing to admit when they were wrong. Just be careful if you end up the keeper of Elric the Great's soul - not sure what that means exactly, but it scared me off a bit. Heavy! That seemed a little "trippy" to me - I did not want to "be the man." Don't want anyone to have to stick it to this man.

Not going to requote BT's post (just to save some space), but here's the best clarification I can think of...and I think since we've taken the "courtroom scenario" (jokingly, of course, because I'm friends with both guys), I would like to be referred to as Judge Chuckie-poo for this post.
Both MGSteve and bobbythomson presented solid evidence and gave good arguments. I went back and looked at the post that both guys and I posted about DIBS.
Rule #18 states:
18. The #2, #3, #4, #5, or #6 player may call “DIBS” to challenge the #1 player if the #1 player is currently being challenged by someone in the Top 6. If the player calling “DIBS” falls out of the Top 6, he/she also loses their “DIBS” to play the #1 player. There will only be one “DIBS” at a time.
I have also stated since its creation the Ladder works/lives in chronological order. I may not be online when a player announces a challenge, win, or calls DIBS, so I always go back to my last post and work from there.
To keep the DIBS part of the Ladder moving, I have always posted/changed a DIBS player to being the Challenger for #1 once the previous #1 match had been posted. Once this done, I usually post a statement that says, "DIBS is open". Again, this is to keep the DIBS part active.
When two players call DIBS at the same time (after my last post, but before my next post), I go back and look at it chronologically to see who was first.
What confused me with this scenario is that DIBS was called while the #1 match was still active (in other words, I don't remember seeing the winner posting the match results...Rule #14) by two players. A post was made saying that someone was ahead in their match, but the match was not over. More confusion came into play when a third player called DIBS. All this took place at the beginning of my work week when I'm on CC for maybe 15 minutes per day.
Bottom line is this...I feel MGSteve got missed when he asked for DIBS in the confusion. I made an executive decision to move DIBS from bobbythomson to MGSteve and that decision is final (Rule #25).
Judge Chuckie-poo has spoken...

Game 18843718I am accepting Judge Chuckie Poo's challenge - here is my game.
I have waived my right to appeal from His Honor's decision.
And call DIBS now that Chuckie Poo has posted that DIBS are open.
I am on the way down in my match against Elric the Great, so I better take a shot at number one while I am still in range.

The ladder says that MGSteve is challenging himself. While I would love to watch this, I think that xroads was challenging him if I have the info correct.

I accept but I think your game needs recreating - "Poly games CAN NOT be 4v4 poly or trench". You have a Poly Trench game..

I did not remember this rule. However, it doesn't seem to be enforced any more, if in fact it ever was.
Here's a poly trench game from the xroads-vs-chapcrap series:
