You forget Ireland. Football, not soccer is the main sport, although every Irish Man supports and English 'soccer' team (usually Man U, as they have no imagination). I'm a British person living in Ireland, Irish Football which as far as I can tell is a cross between Soccer, Rugby and basket ball (without the basket) is huge! Irish soccer isnt!, its mainly (by English standards) pub teams.

wrong , wrong and wrong. Gaelic is played by many in ireland but Football is played by almost everyone in ireland. I support Man utd cause my dad, uncle, cousins, grandfather and great grandfather did and its similar to most of my friends their family supported teams so they did naturally aswell.
Gaelic was founded in 1886 and most of the rural areas play more gaelic than football. in the cities its the opposite.Football and Gaelic has diiferent levels of support around ireland so to say one is more popular than the other is wrong.Football is played more but Gaelic is equally watched as the same as Football. absolutly no where in Gaelic does it resemble basket ball. the pass is a fist pump not a throw so utter bs on that.

KernowWarrior wrote:I only just realised that your in Dublin, and as we all know the center of Ireland is Dublin, football may be played by everyone in Dublin, so of course as far as you being a Dub is concerned football is quote: played by almost everyone in ireland because all Dubs beleve that Ireland begins with D and ends in N! I assure you outside of your Dublin centric world football is played by hardly anyone.
