Some of the army numbers on the small map don't look perfectly centred - I expect that might be caused by the circles not being quite the right size (ie New Morgan) :?

Not sure what you mean by New Morgan MrBenn. there's no such territory.
Also, after your post i've just checked the army circles and they are all perfectly 22 x22 px. :)
More likely the centering has to be adjusted, and that any perception that something is not centered, may be cause by the translation from .cdr to .jpg.
I'll see what happens later today when i check this again in .png and see if that makes any difference.

MrBenn, i think that Morgan Line is fixed on this .png 88 test below.
I also adjusted Marlle and Paisley.
Are there any others that catch your eyes.

It's weird - some of them look about ½ a pixel out :?

Bluefields
Black River
Port Maria
Galleon Harbour
Spanish Town
Fort Augusta
.
.
.
and possibly one or two more...

Having said that; it's only my ulta picky eye that is picking them up with intense scrutiny. They're all passably accurate though, so I guess it's your call ;-)

Yes it is weird.
Here what i did.
1. Ensure all the small circles are 22x22 @ 100% x 100%
2. changed the transpacrency on the circle line to 0% so that only the fill is transparent.
3. re-coordinated the centering for the small map.
4. Split the maps.
5. On the large map left the ships circles at 28px because they are part of the larger image.
6. changed all other circles to 22x22
7. re-centered all the armies on large map.
Results are below:

So I love this map, like really, can't wait to play.

However, I've been trying to figure out this small line of text on the bottom left that reads "Galleon Harbour and Morant connect to Port Rupert via the sea". Now, i see the connection lines and assume they connect the "PR docks", which i guess can stand for Port Rupert, but in my mind it stands for "Port Royal", since its in Port Royal. Yet I don't see anything with the name "Port Rupert", the closest i can tell is Fort Rupert.

I know this detail is really small and probably just stupidity on my part, but can someone clear this up?

No, tvremote, not stupidity, my bad however....
that should read Galleon Harbour and Morant connect to PR Docks
Thanks for the edit. :)
Please f5 to refresh and see the adjustment below.

OK here it is with some xml cleanup based on the reply from the xml check forum =)

small - http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s282 ... a_V30S.jpg
large - http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s282 ... a_V30L.jpg
xml - http://www.bigottergames.com/downloads/jamaicaV30.xml

It was pointed out to me that in your inset map there is no border between Stoney Hill and Gordon Town...

=D=

dolomite13, i've fixed that border (and the outline on the large coffee icons)

when you made the adjustments and cleanup, did you use the xml that i had in the link above
http://h1.ripway.com/cairnswk/_jamaica.xml
, or did you use your old old file.

has Forza AZ said that all is ok with the xml yet?
it appears a lot of the centering is again incorrect, i just checked with the latest versions of the images that i did when i fixed the border as above, and it is going to have be gone over again.

The XML has passed FOrza's check - but like you've mentioned, there are some centering issues, and some possible border issues?

OK. I've just checked the xml in the file and there are 8 territories listed as bordering Stony Hill.
I also placed the graphics and xml files in the Map Inspect and everything looks OK to me border wise, Stony Hill shows up with 8 territories bordering it and those territories also border Stony Hill.
To me apart from the centering, everything looks OK, and I'll get onto the centering today. :)

OK, i have apologies to make to MrBenn and dolomite13...
there ended up being translation issues with the 22px army circles from Coreldraw to the .jpg file which were propogating to 23px.
I hope this is now fixed in the images below.

The centering should be OK as far as i can see.

          Beta - Quenching

---The Final Forge period has concluded for the Jamaica Map. All objections have had their time. The Foundry and I hereby brand this map with the Foundry Beta Brand. Let it be known that this map is now ready for BETA Play. After an extended period of time in BETA and once all quirks and issues have been resolved, the map will be put into Full Play (barring any Lack vetoes).

Conquer Club, enjoy!
