LED ZEPPELINER wrote:this could be cool, but instead of dividing it by ocean, maybe i could just say all light houses can attack each other
You could...but I would tend to lean towards just one side of the island being able to attack the other. Opening it up too much would make it very hard to defend the lighthouse terts. But it is your map...just my thoughts
ok, i will do by body of water, and maybe have a diff light house pic for each side of the land
what does everybody think of the small map

I think it looks okay but I'm not a mpamaker.
On second look though instead of a lighthouse in SE Brookhaven have one on Jones Beach. That way Jones beach isn't locked in by Long Beach and you have one lighthouse in Nassau, Suffolk and the Hamptons.

Though there are a lot of lighthouses on Long Island I still think only three a side, and one per continent on the respective sides is the way to go

I'm happy you removed the black line on the left Only few "critics" for you:
the border line babylon-bayshore has to be fixed long beach, jones beach and fire island don't have the same terrain effect like other territories.
and 2 suggestions:
orient point name has to move a bit down and right (look my ugly 5 minutes example in spoiler) roger's beach name a bit on the right (so the name don't touch the attack route)
the reason why those islands don't have hte same effect as the rest of the land is becuase i used a pattern overlay, and it is just more faded in those spots i think it is becuse of the bevel
i will try to fix it i will fix the names

mmm You could find a better effect, this one doesn't fit very well

With the lighthouses in play it may be harder to defend and warrant a +4

yeah, the wind looks bad here. and downscale that lighthouse in the atlantic a lot, then reduce the size of the text, and cut off a ton of pixels on the map.

when you say take off pixels, do you mean width wise.
I'll downscale the lighthouse
Which text do you want me to downscale

Another suggestion:
remove the "+" symbols on the legend or make them smaller

The quogues territory is out of place... any tert with that name should be on the southern fork.. there is nothing between islip and se brookhaven

I like the lighthouses...though think they should be a bit smaller...not much, just a bit.
Also I know you said you couldn't...but I know if the map moves forward, they are going to take you to task for the shading in Fire Island.
Back to the lighthouses...bonus or no bonus? When I was thinking lighthouses I was just thinking attack routes. Not sure what kind of bonus would be appropriate for holding them. And if you do get one...do you make it a bonus for one set and an extra bonus for all of them? My preference is just to keep them attack routes.

And according to this little map, the Quogue's are in the Hamptons...may want to change what you got right now.
i agree on leaving them as attack routes. i will try making the light houses smaller, and i completely forgot about the islands, i will fix that hopefully
