I tottaly agree with you. I want something like this added to. I just dont think will allow it because there are "other ways of accomplishing this"
EX. tournements, private games ect...

This option has been said countless times, and has been already rejected many times.
Check the to-do list
And it's simple why.
If you don't want to play against certain ranks, make a post in callout for advertising a few games for players who have the required points, and ask them to pm you. Then pm them the passwords.
Otherwise, everyone is welcomed.

I play the games and almost never visit the forum. I imagine there are plenty of others who do the same.
Hence arranging games via the forum seems nonoptimal to me.
It likely makes others not want to start games, and thus limits the selection of games I have when I search for games. Then I start a game, and end up playing 2 newbie cooks who deadbeat.
I guess that's "good" for the customers.

I'm betting 50%> of users on cc have never posted once.

It's nonoptimal but it's the only way to not exclude recruits.
Possible preset option for who gets to join an 'open' game?

Just an idea - I KNOW there are private games out there, but I would really like to have the option of starting an open game but being able to opt that anyone can join the game, PROVIDED they have a rank of at least 1200 or 1500 or whatever. (No passwords, no big searches to find your game, etc)
It's frustrating having four cooks fill your slots in doubles games and misplay it to the effect of you losing close to 100 points (And let's face it - High rank private doubles/triples games are not exactly a massive draw except perhaps at clan level)
Thoughts?

Its been rejected many times, because, if it were implemented, people would always set the scores high and the low guys would be kept out of all the games.
I suggest that you
A. buy premium, make password games, and invite high-ranks into them.
B. join a group that has ranked games (look in callouts. there are quite a few). they have password-protected games and only give you the PW if you are above a given rank.
Playing others at a similar rank

I'm sure this may have been asked before but is there a way of playing a game with a minimum entry rank criteria? I've been wiped out in loads of Terminator games recently as newer players all target me for the big points (although fair enough.... I would do the same).
I'm not saying that I'm much of a target any more mind you after a terrible run recently! But I do know a lot of other players share the same frustration though.
The answer I can expect from some is that if a strong player plays against weaker ones, he should be able to beat them. But the problem is you have a giant target on your back and players lose reason and go all out for you...shit or bust. They have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
It would be nice to be able to start a game and set a minimum rank entry criteria.... Just a thought.....

This has been suggested and rejected because it isn't nice to the new players if the people with the higher scores exclude them.
The only way to sort of have a minimum rank entry is to create a private game and pm your friends who have similar ranks.
Ranks etc

Herakilla, if it's been suggested so many times, maybe 89 million players have a point? It would only be an OPTION...
Please tell me how to do a search on this without getting 89 million responses.... I tried and nothing specific came up....

either make private games and invite similar ranks or make private games and post them here:
Officers' Mess (announce new 1800+ games here!)
or here when you become a captain:
CC 2000 Games (formerly Colonel Games)

its called exaggeration and sarcasm, and this has been suggested many times. all rejected due to the fact this absolutely cuts off upper ranks from lower ranks, makes it easier to get to the top, and doesnt allow the lower ranks to get better. (you only get better by playing the best)

Advanced Search

Idea: A search engine that allows you to search games with specific ranks.
Description: The idea is rather rudimentary but I know it would be helpful. Basically, the problem is when I search for games it takes me 15 minutes to find a game with players of the same rank as me. I think everyone would be able to benefit from searching for games with specific ranks. It would create more balanced games.
Advancements: I think it might also be convenient if public games could be exclusive. I know that might defeat the purpose, but private games are often difficult to coordinate. If public games could only be accessible by a few ranks, or a score range, it would make the game more competitive for cooks and colonels alike.
Thanks for all you do.

No Newbies Option!

More often than not it's always the newbies that deadbeat. I think that if you start a game that before the game starts, you should have the option of removing newbies. Deadbeater always ruin games. Does anyone agree?

you, me and everybody else on this site was a newbie at one moment.
would have liked it, so you wouldn't be allowed to join some games?

True

We all were newbies at one point, but some newbies get into this not knowing what it is they got into then deadbeats. Then how about this; if they deadbeated one game then that option should be there. I have never deadbeated and most of the people I've met in CC have never deadbeated and the ones that did fore warned everyone with a good reason why. Deadbeating is simply not cool.
