I am sorry, I must be replaced. GF dumped me and I don't feel like playing any games right now.

It seems we have gotten stuck in a doldrum here and have no movement. We have two claims stating that Safari and Clever are town. Vodean is clear to me so where do we go from here I guess is the question.

confirm as freezies replacement
girlfriendim sorry. that must suck.
we could always go back to joke-votes, or random BWs. I hope that i will have some spare time next week to read through in depth to check on other scumbuggers. DJ is a good place to start as he is always scummy. also random.org agrees, and he has been scummy?? Im BSing here, but we really need someone to come forward with something like that

Well that clears up the gender of some of the mafia regulars (and I'm only half-kidding).
I'm still suspicious of clever's claim, it seems a odd fit for the god, but with no counterclaims, I don't think we can hang him.
unvote

Unvote because flavor is strong, pretty much.
Vote Saf to make the VC a draw.

Alright, Im debating on what to do here but since things got a little stale I decided I would use my powers to at least get town up and moving again
I am Heimdallr, My power is I can ask the MOD a limited amount of questions asking if someone has lied in a post.
Vodean that was the reason I tried on D1 to get you to just say I am town yes... cause I asked if you were lying. You werent and thats why I went instant defense on you so you are clear.
I also made my stupid sounding post a few posts ago stating that Clever and Safari were town. I was lying so one of them is scum.
Im not sure which one however but one of them is scum.

you could also have been lying about what the question was or whether we were stuck with no movement

Wikipedia wrote: Heimdallr is attested as possessing foreknowledge, keen eyesight and hearing, is described as "the whitest of the gods", and keeps watch for the onset of Ragnarök
Good enough for me.
I think Saf's claim is iffier, so I say let's head that direction.

I specified the question but you are correct there could be a third party involvement but either way there is something up with one of them. Clever appears to be the more dangerous of the two but also the most far fetched. I guess need to disect their claims.

Indeed, I'm not sure really, a bomb/beloved princess seems a rather odd thing to put in the game if you aren't fircoal.
Especially with a vig going around for town, one false move and boom, town's screwed. The balance just doesn't seem right.
And on the other hand, we have a watcher, a more common role, with a much weaker flavor.
I was looking the names up on wikipedia, Safari, are you vali son of odin, or vali son of loki?
or are they the same thing?

dude no god has two daddies.
I did think that saf was suspicious, but since im under the impression that mafia targeted saf, id say clever's role is fake, and just trying to scare us. it IS rather outlandish.

That would be Vali, son of Odin.
I've brought up before how Clever's role seems to be a perfect mafia fakeclaim. Combine two powers together to scare us off voting him. Also, how does his flavor fit his role exactly?

If you think that Clever might be telling the truth, Saf is still the way to go. If Saf is lying, we lynch a scum and we're cool. If he's telling the truth, Clever ends up with a hammer in his face (be it Thor's or the lynch wagon's). At the same time there's no risk of having an inordinately long night (or if there is, it exists regardless).

So Saf's case boils down to pushiness and a funky claim. I hate to rely solely on the claim; playing the mod can be dangerous, but I'm not altogether opposed, I guess. I'd have to think about it some more.
I did re-read in order to contribute something else, just 'cuz I'm a nice guy. Following are some things that tripped me up a bit in hindsight. It's hard to gauge how important Jonty's role was since we don't know what he enabled; but I'm willing to bet it was potent enough.
/ re: dj wrote:I don't really see it, I've read through the last few pages a few times, can you explain better how jonty's posts incite the situation?
Here is a slight defense of jonty; admittedly nothing too much since at this point the worst he had done was force vodean to claim by bringing the VC to L-2 iirc. So, valid conversation point with djfireside or subtle defense early on to save jonty? Hard to say.
Interesting that Clever jumps into action within 13 minutes of vodean's post...
Hm, the saf case isn't very strong, but I am still suspicious of why he seemed to fish for further elaboration of a vodean's claim, I suppose now is the best time to get things done. Vote Saf
Here jonty had three votes on him by now; could this be construed as / steering the case from jonty to Saf? Perhaps. It's not quite blatant or too damning.
/ wrote:vodean wrote:/ wrote:Well, there was the matter of him and jonty defending each other.
But, this new evidence does seem incriminating, vote saf, any ideas why night may have turned out this way?
did you mean to say saf? or clever?
I was commenting that Clever was defending Jonty yesterday, in response to you saying there is no case on clever.
But voted Saf based on the scene and info we have.
Here / seems to have adopted a confirmed (dead) townie's legacy and brings attention to a dying man's wishes in the form of a case against Clever. Could be slightly scummy, could be innocent. He proceeds full bore on a case against Clever.
freezie wrote:Vodean/Safari thing is going too far. Way too far.
Deadline is very, very near. We have until Edoc's come back basicly....
Unvote if needed
Vote: Safari
Cause..And I hate to do this..it's the only way to go until deadline. He did defend everything that has said against him, and he admitted he pushed Vodean a bit too much. But he did ''ask'' thor to counter claim, which he didn't -and shouldn't have-.
And we lack anything else to go on for now. Either something come up from this or we get a no lynch.
I saw this post by freezie similar in tone to what I read in /'s; could be an avoidance of jonty's case. Both / and freezie do hop on at the end of the lynch when jonty claims Ve; perhaps abandoning a sinking ship? So I'll FOS: / and freezie/chap. Maybe some candidates for whoever has inno powers tonight.

If you believe the claim is fake, why did you unvote?
In fact, DJ has now claimed one of the two of you is a liar, unless you doubt his power there is no reason for you to even slightly trust clever now, unless you know the liar is yourself.
Same goes for clever.
Why not vote safari?
I'm getting scummy vibes from both of you, but at least watcher is a more provible claim, if faked we should know the moment you say the result.

yes... perhaps it would be better if we find another case, then get saf to watch someone, then for them to confirm. then if they lied (when saf comes up town), we know clever AND the liar are scum.

I'm pointing out how roleflavor is probably not a good indicator of actual role ability.
And why are we trusting Dj all of a sudden? He could easily be scum trying to get a townie hanged. Unless I missed something where someone investigated Dj and dj came up town.

I just found this little tidbit on Wikipedia: "Then were taken Loki's sons, Váli and Nari or Narfi; the Æsir changed Váli into the form of a wolf, and he tore asunder Narfi his brother."
Sound anything like our night scene?
Little extra info: "Váli, son of Loki, is otherwise unknown. It has been suggested that the Völuspá stanza actually refers to Váli, son of Odin, and that Snorri created the Váli, son of Loki, character to make sense of it." The first quote at the top of my post is of the Völuspá stanza.
I'm very close to lynching Saf.

That is part of my problem with Saf's claim. The flavor is very thin and and very odd. I don't know how much I really want to gamble here.
