Amusement Parks

I did a search of the forum and did not see this topic in my results... How about maps of famous Amusement Parks. I am of course thinking of my hometown park Cedar Point, which is already divided up into various "continents" like Frontier Town, Main Midway, and Kiddy Kingdom, etc. Here is the park map http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/park/map/index.cfm which obviously could not be used for copyright reasons and for the simple fact that it is not conducive for game play. But if someone out there could modify it, that would be awesome!

There are obviously a ton of other parks that would be suited for Conquer Club design. Anyone out there interested in tackling this genre?

Don't know if it's been suggested or not, but I think an North America: 1812 map would be a great playboard.

Principle bodies ("continents"):

The United States
British North America
New Spain (Mexico)
New Granada (Central America)
The Carribean (including Florida)
Pacific Northwest (Oregon Country, Alaska)

You obviously couldn't have each individual state in the US as an idividual territory, but rather combine states into territories, like New England, Chesapeake (Maryland/Virginia/Deleware), Cumberland (Kentucky/Tennesee/Ohio) etc...to tidy it up a bit.

you could have the map be a circle cut into slices, or something similar, and they could all border at the center.

and then, make a center piece w/ a bonus of like 10

well, you could, but if not, they all just touch each other in the center, it kinda goes contrary to the general consensus that "four-corner" boundaries shouldn't exist, it'd actually blow that outta the roof.

Also, though, would people want to play such a map, I can easily say that I wouldn't.

Not a map idea itself but a great resource for raw map material if you're covering a part of the actual world.

the human body.

control all the parts that make up the arms, legs, or head and you get a bonus.

but there would also be something like the central nervous system and/or major arteries that would make it possible to infiltrate the bonus areas (something like the warpgates/wormholes in the space map.

any takers?

Mornington Crescent

I haven't read through all the backlog, so I don't know if it's already been suggested, but how about the London Underground?

It's a large map so it would have to be in a simplified form - just the city centre, for example. The stations would be countries and the lines (District, Piccadilly, Circle, Metropolitan, etc.) would be continents. There could also be bonuses for holding the main line stations (Paddington, Victoria, King's Cross, Waterloo, etc.) and, of course, for holding Mornington Crescent.

How about having a map that has some small countries (like S.A. for example) be worth a lot of bonus men, and big countries not worth as many (1-3).

You see, once somebody captures say South America, people think, oh its just 2 armies... but those 2 armies add up. However, when somebody is trying to hold Europe, lets say, nobody is going to let them cause its a Whooping 5 ARMIES! OMG

so, my idea is have smaller countries with 2 or so borders be easily accessible (i.e. in the middle of the map) and be worth alot of men. Nobody wants to let someone hold a country with a bonus of 4 of 5, so they'll do their best to destroy it, while those people who after many rounds defeat their enemies in that big country, people won't necessarily come after them, since they are only receiving 1-3 armies a turn.

I believe it will change how the game is played and what is worth more and such.

Please don't post the same thing in all topics. People who read the Foundry forum will read your topic I think. You don't have to post in all others topics for that.
