Nah, that'd've made no sense at all in at least 80% of context.
Can we at least agree that Venezuela deserved a cup victory however unlikely! :D

wouldn't say deserved a cup victory. beating Chili is not as honorable as beating Brazil and Argentina.

certainly, South America nations benefited from the world cup qualifying system that gives them a plenty of interaction with 18 home & away games over 2.5 years.

Surely the big two got eliminated fairly along the way. Why then say a team who won the final of a cup competition didn't deserve it because they didn't have to beat one of the perennial favourites in the actual final?
However I agree that the America's in general have it easier than European teams, but Australia almost has a bye every time!

I mean in light of semi-finals and regardless of the results of next stages.

in fact you would be fairly recognized as the champions if you could win the final game since you would be beating the team who beat the big shark. as you said, it is not likely Venezuela will win. I agree with this because they lack the experience to handle such advanced stage when it requires special concentration and performance. In such situation, a team like Venezuela has reached the summit of glory and can't imagine more; not win hungry anymore for now like the Uruguay and Paraguay who are pretty used to get to semis. same story for Croatia 1998, Portugal 2006...etc

On the other hand, Greece proved it is possible for the inexperienced team to continue and win when the won the Euro 2004.

...and still, none can explain Greece winning.
That really was the Amateur team beating the big boys!

Greece played with an amazing defensive way. their offense was not very good. all they could do per match was one goal, but their solid defense could keep the net safe and clear.

England's defense usually depends on clearing and sending the ball away which allows the opposite team to take it and press again. however, in Greece 2004 case, the defense handled things very quietly by controlling the ball and start an preparation for an a calm and nice attack with no rush at all.

at least that what I saw.

I am saddened by this inability/refusal to agree on anything.
Debate may stimulate but ultimately it precipitates violence when there is no accord.
Not for nothing is it said #oooff #stayonyourfeet #movement

If United don't sign Snejider, which I don't think they will, I think you will see one or two defensive midfielders come in. I always thought SAF wanted to play a 4-2-3-1 for a while now when he bought Hargreaves but that turned out to be a worse buy then some of the other flops. At least they played games to be called flops.

i doubt united will sign Snejider or nasri , more likely fergie will go for someone young which is bad imo as he needs experience in center mid.

also yet another reason why Balotelli is an asshole the guy should just play the game instead of trying to showboat.disgraceful imo.

It's in the bag... it's called the Emirates Cup for a reason. It belongs at the Emirates.
