Um, Mr. Chicken is reading backwards. It is +4 for 7 Capitals!

What font do you like?

Well chickens can't read. My bad. Canada font.

Carry on!

With the theme, I'm thinking Deseret or Amexica font. Can't decide which one.... I'll think about it.

You could use a diff font for each one.. That would be pretty fractured.

Well, pondering on the theme,"Fractured America" I have a thought or two. True, it is set in the future, but it is a future where things have broken down. This conjurers up a feeling of digression, or devolution. So, consider this-
Make the legend with the futuristic font that is similar to the Star Wars one. But, use a more primitive font like the Amexica for the map. This contrast in the font styles will help to denote both the future, and also, how it has devolved into a more primitive state. ;)

edit- jef beat me to the punch, lol.
Great minds think alike. 8-)

Version 9

Changes made:
- Increased territory font size
- Changed font in legend to more closely match the theme of the map
- Added some noise around instructions in legend

That's it so let me know what you think, please!

A sizable chunk of land with a major city that seems to be missing.

I know, but for cleanliness for the small map I have to omit some areas. Without Long Island (no offense to those that live there), the map will be cleaner and less clutter in the north east part of the map.

hmm, i sort of lean toward [player]jefjef[/player]'s sentiments here, especially as i dislike the extra region in montana (which is supposed to be comparatively unspoilt wilderness - showing industry in the north-east usa was my reason for including pittsburgh). the missing place is one of the most-recognised cities in the world and ought to be the first city to be put on the map! vermont is shown as twice the real size north-to-south of the vermont-massachusetts-connecticut area, which is what takes up the room. if new england is moved slightly to the right, then long island can make an appearance (and/or the democrats zone can be stretched if necessary).

texas will be pretty well impossible to hold. merging arizona into nuevo arizona and giving it to amexica is a way to make the shape of this zone look less contrived. to balance the numbers, see if u can fit in an extra californian city, from which there are plenty to choose. splitting bakersfield into san fran and san jose is one possibility (i'm not sure why u have bakersfield in there, but u might have reasons to prefer it to san jose!) - i assume ecoville is the new name for sacramento in this reality.

nuevo leon is a more appropriate place for the amexica capital than zacatecas. it's the location of monterrey, the only large city in northern mexico.

i also recommend starting neutral all of the capitals of the 4-region bonus zones. this will give more choice of strategy as well as avoid first-turn bonuses. at the moment, in 1v1 or 2v2 games, the obvious plan nearly every time is to target either a 4-region zone or cuba, while nearly every other strategy will usually be too slow.

the maple leaf is now showing through nicely in the northern prairies.

Added Long Island, tried splitting PA, but it was way to crowded. I could expand the Democrats by added Virginia to it instead of having it in Libertarians.

Merged Arizona into Neuvo Arizona. Instead of fitting an extra California city, I moved San Diego from Amexica to Ecovnia. Amexica already has 13 territories so 1 less won't change the bonus. As far as Bakersfield, that was the first one that came to mind (maybe because I've driven through there more times than San Jose :) ) And yes Ecoville is the new name for Sacramento.

Done!

A great idea! So we would have Montana, Havana, Quebec, Winnipeg, Illinois, SLC, Iowa, and I think adding in Ecoville as capitals that start with 3 neutrals. This would also prevent someone from gaining a capital bonus to start the game off. Then again we can make the other capitals as starting locations.

Love the Greene Piece name, but also think that there is no way Washington could be part of the Canada, could be only vice versa.

Is this your idea or is it from some sci-fi book?

Washington might not be, on the other hand since this is a futuristic map "why not?" I actually got the inspiration from the Prayers of an Assasin trilogy series. Although it is based on a muslim getting elected and the country going into civil war, so I thought it would be a cool map to do (not using that idea verbatim), a post civil war america still in turmoil and yet try and make it different than the US Apocolypse map, which I think I have accomplished.

Yeah, since it is futuristic, then it kind of works. Thanks for the trilogy name, i might look into it.

Interesting idea about new Civil War, but it is kind of hard to believe there would be that many divisions, but everything is possible. ;)

For a futuristic New York City, you should name it: NEW New York City. ;)

Long Island and Newfoundland are a nice addition. Sad to see Lakehead replaced by Thunder Bay though...as mentioned before it is a historical name of the area that is now Thunder Bay. There are just as many things named Lakehead in Thunder Bay as there are things named after Thunder Bay. Map looks great though!

Here is Version 10.2 with a new font in the legend. I have also posted the small map as well, so just ignore the army circles on the small, I am just concerned about the new font in the legend. Please let me know!!

Not fond of the new legend font. I've seen anti-bot security confirmation phrases that are easier to read.

Nuevo Arizona has 7 terts connecting it...That's too many. How about getting rid of the leg that connects it to Moab? Maybe just extend New Mexico?

As for the font. Kinda cool. Can ya darken it a bit more? (names)

I certainly do. I think it's the best font you've had down there.

I agree... the bonus font is so different than all the other fonts on map, etc, that it makes it a bit distracting... so I would stay more neutral. Everything else looks great though!

Ok so that new font won't work so here I have reinstated the old clear, readable font to the legend. I also moved the NM border to the left and took out the panhandle of Neuvo Arizona. I alos moved the left border of Amarillo to the left as well so the text would fit better, as well as moved the Baja California/Neuvo Arizona border down a little to get rid of the four way corner.

Need other gameplay suggestions, if none can we get this GP stamped? How about graphic suggestions?

Nice improvements since I've last checked. I'd like to petition for the Libertarians to be called the New Confederacy though... seems to make more sense.
