Thank you, JP. I know how difficult it was for you and Donelladan to recreate these rankings and I hope you know how much people in this community value and respect the work you do and the time you put in. =D>

Going to agree with this assessment.

I hope that with a good RL showing we can fight for 6th place and then see if we can somehow catch up to the close battles that is 2-5.

RL alone will not help you get to top 10, you need wars
Let me know if you need help with that

We're also playing the invitational cup, so we should be fine eventually.

I'm curious whether TOFU's 39-4 win over BOB will actually help our rating or hurt it.

I think it will slightly help us (like a handful of points), but its a handful either way.

Does that mean even if they won 43-0 they would lose some points?

Yes
No clan should ever lose points by winning flawlessly. That needs to be fixed in the future.

This has been the case since this ranking exist. Changing that would mean using a different ranking system.

I don't disagree with you.
But as Donelladan said, to change that it would be a new ranking system. And making so it definitely never happens could not be easily done. There are a few simple parameters that could be adjusted to mostly achieve the result I think though.

Has the top of the rankings ever been closer?

37 points separating the top 5?
2-5 separated by 20?

I still think of S&M as undisputed number 1s, but I guess not having a dominant league performance may have stopped them from easily pulling away?

I'm going to claim that TOFU would be 2nd or 3rd had they/we not played in CL2.

ToFU isnot playing in RL where the same clans from the CL second division are playing but risk of losing points in RL is bigger than in CL because sets are 12 games instead of 16 games and games are random instead of home away so more luck based. Despite playing in every season of RL, S&M is still ranked #1.

As I said previously, I think if you're worried about rank that much you shouldn't be skipping years. Even a bad year in PD long as you aren't relegated will prevent the losses TOFU experience in SD. Its self inflicted by skipping.

It's self-inflicted, but not everybody is aware of that :) . We had great reasons not to play in CL the year before and I would totally do that again: advocate against playing in CL year 1, and lobbying to play CL year 2.

I'm not concerned with rank. I just want to win. Rank will work itself out.

But, I maintain that no clan should lose points if they are perfect in a war. You will not change my mind on that.

Yes, in our most recent war we were not perfect and thus I am for the most part ok with some minor loss of points although I don't know that other clans would have done significantly better. As I posted in our internal forum - winning that match 42-1, 38-5 or 33-10 won't tell us much about where we are, its usually the semi finals for most clans that reveal where they are (although there seems to be one quarter final match per year that is relevant).
