I passed my engineering chartership review on Friday.... more posts for me to go through than I can manage on a tablet. Will go through on my computer later.

Nothing major for me to say I dont think.

just got done reading the last few pages, had drill yesterday then after that a family meal with wifes family and mine so wasnt on a lot actually missed a few turns also.

@Mitch one of the few things that stuck out to me in the last 3 or so pages was i bealive your last post that ONLY said a quick post for you.... why even make a post if its not going to say anything helpfull at all?

the slip up by Anark saying we are slipping under the radar could be a thing but knowing phone spelling it very well could of been a typo. will be a thing to keep a note of down the road

FIrst things first. There are generally two major scumfails day 1.

The first is those who know a lot D1 about the mechanics of the game. Samlem falls into this category in this game. He claims to have pieced it together on conjecture alone, but somehow made quite a few leaps of logic. Scum tend to know a lot more D1 than others due to more informative role descriptions.

The second are those who decide to make a point of showing they know nothing. Tim's question to Dakky was such an event. Really? Its questionable that Team Rocket are in this game? Tim has claimed during the start of this game that he knows pokemon well, so how can he be surprised by the idea of Team Rocket? Likely answer is that he IS team rocket and wants to pretend to have no knowledge of such.

On a similar note, I could do a similar summary of Kwantons posts. So far he appears to be limited to just posting snipets of rules and the scenes. Gee what a huge help! NOT

On the Masket case, (pun intended), there are two outcomes here. He dies at night as he gets targeted by scum for being a trainer (Well who said they would be all scum....) or he survive because he is a scum trainer and we get him later. I really dont see why we would lynch him today.

I really dont like Fircoal or SKoffin in this game. Skoffin jokevoted Fircoal and then was very quick to defend him against real votes. Something is very fishy about that, its like he wanted to be able to claim late in the game that he voted him so cant be amigos, but doesnt want a d1 lynch on him.

I have a funny feeling about Fircoal, however he is being helpful so far so I shall refrain for now. Keeping an eye open.

I caught Maskets question and other people seem to agree, so, at the very least, I have contributed. All you have done is complained and made snide comments...

I am way out of the age group that Pokemon was ever focused on, and so are a few other gamers here... Quit using it as an excuse. It has NO bearing on how people are playing. What it does do, however, is make you look like you are looking for an out about contributing... And that is scummy.

On Nark's slip up I'm sort of torn. On one hand it could be absolutely nothing. It's easy to mess up words. But on the other hand it's very easy to confuse what your mind is saying and what you want to type. the one thing that strikes out ot me is that "we are too easily slipping under the radar" doesn't make sense. Espeically since Nark isn't exactly slipping under the radar.

Those kid trainers are almost 100% certain to be 'town' trainers. As for Team Rocket, while yes, it's likely they'll be here, it's by no means guaranteed. Giovanni most definetly is a trainer. In both the anime and in the games he was a gym leader. A strong one too. Yes he had lackies to do his work for him but he certainly was a trainer too.

Not exactly, I believe even in the game they are older than the main character, although to be fair outside of the anime I don't think their ages are said.

I agree with what Nark said. You don't have to know about Pokemon to play this game. Trust me, I know Pokemon better than anyone in this game (maybe not the first gen but in general yes), (also not the 7th gen because I'm still not done with that game. I am slow at these things. x3), it doesn't exactly help me know who is scum and who isn't. Furthermore we can't answer what Mandy put in the game because we don't know. We're not him. People need to stop using their lack of experience in the subject matter as a reason to not participate in trying to find scum. It's incredible scummy and inadvicable if you're town.



Speaking of Nark I would like to add this, yes he's say things that have seemed odd or off, but at the same time he hasn't been afraid to stick his neck out and he has been posting a lot. In general posting a lot is good for town more than scum. While scum does want to push lynches they like they also don't want to attract attention. Nark has attracted attention, while it's possible it was just an unintentional effect I do tend to like to keep active players alive. It's good for town.

ACtually these questions don't need to be answered before we know who to go after. Certainly they may help but it doesn't stop that we need to find the scum and remove them. It's a bunch of questions but no actual answers. Many of these questions having to do with stuff already covered and answered. No answers of suggests given, thusly doesn't actually say much.

No. No it doesn't. As Nark said that doesn't mean that you can't post and do all of that. You can still try to figure out who scum is and yet YOU HAVEN'T DONE THAT. Your contributions are jumping onto bandwagons and stalling in place.

You have 7 posts and very little content between all of those posts. This is the defintion of someone trying to look active without actually adding anything to the discussion. And who does that? That's right scum. At least Dakky and Tim's posts while misguided are trying to get at something but these posts? They go nowhere. He's never pointed his fingers at anyone besides targets that were already picked out for him. He's not putting his neck out on the line at all, and all of this I find very scummy.

I am aware that the post I quoted was before the typo. I can still bash you with your own argument. You are correct, I am criticizing everyone, however, only one player is getting really really annoyed and reacting competely out of proportion with the accusations. And that is YOU.

Correct, I have not contributed to ideas about possible game setups or mechanics. I do not think it is very town to fish for information. If anyone wants to tell us useful things which dont compromise their position I am sure they will. How does speculation about game setup help?

You should learn how mafia works, but clearly thats never going to happen.

I know it's all meta, as I played with mitch in almost all games in last year or two... and I've just remembered this IB's post from last Pokemon game... link ... It is true that mitch while being town is much more proactive and tries more to search for scum. I repeat, that is only meta. This game his posts are utter nonsense and without any content. (check his posts in that other Pokemon game here: link)

What you know or don't know about the flavour of a game has no bearing at all, whether Pokemon or Ming Dynasty China, the same general rules apply: find and kill mafia. The questions you were asking had nothing to do with that, as a town all the info you need to get going is given to you at the start, the only reason you would ask for more info (i.e. how many factions, how many in a faction, make up of factions, etc.) is if you are scum looking for information that would inform your decisions for night actions.

Sorry, I should clarify this. I'm not saying he is town -- just that the intent of his post isn't that he is surprised by Team Rocket, it's that he's acting like someone shouldn't be able to know for sure whether Team Rocket is in the game unless they're Team Rocket. That could be towny or scummy but let's at least agree that he's not a complete moron in this regard.

So it seems the *main* reason people are still voting minister is because.... he slipped that he's a trainer? That seems highly illogicial considering the evidence that we have that at some/most trainers are townsided...
I believe that most, or even all, of the people voting Minister right now are either another trainer trying to eliminate competition, or scum also trying to eliminate competition.
Out of all the people voting him, Madmitch certainly has the least concrete of reasons by blatantly bandwagoning, so he will be earning my vote. I'd keep an eye on the others voting him too, since they could just as easily be scum.

The post you are refering too I explained how I got to those conclusions... if you need me to go step by step and quote by quote how I reached that conclusion, then sure, I can do that.
I'm going to point out that other people came up with similar conlusions/agreed because it makes sense.

BuJ, good catch with the nark slip. For right now, I'm willing to accept that it could be a phone error (I've seen some interesting ones), but it'll be something to consider as the day goes on. As for mets' comment about it being a bad case, I'd say it's not a bad one as D1 cases go, so I have no problem with BuJ finding it. If he's wrong, though, then I agree that it seems like an easy one for scum to latch onto, so I would be more suspicious of HotShot or strikewolf than I would of BuJ.
So far, I'm liking BuJ, Wing, and Fircoal (though I'm not convinced about his claim to being the most knowledgeable about pokemon ). I find this mitchwagon interesting - Tim and mitch are both rather erratic players, but it was interesting that there seemed to be a bit of resistance to the case on Tim, while mitch has had 4 votes in the last 3 hours. That said, I'm usually ok with either of them being lynched D1 and this is no exception.

Also, since in this game the mod has said it is a bad idea to claim, should we be insisting on a claim before hammer? I would say no, but we should still wait for a defense when at L-2. I would like to hear other people's thoughts on it, though.

What you know or don't know about the flavour of a game has no bearing at all, whether Pokemon or Ming Dynasty China, the same general rules apply: find and kill mafia. The questions you were asking had nothing to do with that, as a town all the info you need to get going is given to you at the start, the only reason you would ask for more info (i.e. how many factions, how many in a faction, make up of factions, etc.) is if you are scum looking for information that would inform your decisions for night actions.

We really don't need any help with bandwagonning this game I see nark is copping a lot of flak for a playstyle which is totally in keeping with his personality. I don't think the supposed typo scum tell is worth a hill of beans so I'm merely a little concerned that he could be another trainer. Now, it's possible that the trainers are the town but since in pokemon there are always way less trainers than pokemon (duh) i'm sticking by my theory that pokemon or other npcs are the town and the various trainers are cult-type entitities. With that in mind, thinking that MM is a trainer and that trainers are bad, I'm going to Vote:Minister Masket.

I have a strange feeling about Nark & Wing... they keep fighting, accusing each other, and then they both go into "ignore" mode... like they did a show and now they look like mortal enemies. If the assumption is correct that there are multiple trainers, pokemons, teams, whatever, they will get a free pass to the endgame since no one will link them together even if they're part of assumed Team Rocket. If one dies, no one will suspect the other. Pretty smart I'd say, so let's keep eyes open.

Out of all the people voting him, Madmitch certainly has the least concrete of reasons by blatantly bandwagoning, so he will be earning my vote. I'd keep an eye on the others voting him too, since they could just as easily be scum.

I understand role claims are suicidal. Since he's a trainer, other trainers want to get rid of him, even if he's townsided. However, I believe that the mafia is more of a threat than a town-sided trainer, which I believe he is not mafia. Then again, it seems more likely that everyone is out for themselves and that there is no 'town'. However, I still think mafia is more of a threat, which I believe he is not. I guess it was my bad to assume people would think the same in that mafia is more of a threat than a trainer.
