Re: Is CC Declining?
This is depressing. We now have 50% more "Likes" on Facebook than active players.
I'm going to have to use a different strategy.

If it makes you feel any better, I removed my "Like" a long time ago.

In some, sick and perverted way, it does make me feel better. I prefer to like people who like us. And clearly I don't ...

well, the important thing is, the clan world is still chugging along playing games with those cement settings they so desperately forced upon the site... as long as that is going strong, who cares about the rest?!!! the black jesus has spoken... nothing to see here, move along...-Bj

there are about 10 very valid and excellent ideas, different variations of the same ideas, that have been floating about for years... they are soundly ignored...
talk to BW... the forums are ignored...-Bj

What does clans have anything to do with it?
If anything, clans keep many players involved as they feel a part of something.

Re: Is CC Declining?
owen thinks CC went down because of clan. Why not after all ?
But the clan world is not responsible for the implementation of new settings, clan world doesn't like new settings. Told you many times already owen.
You wanna blame the decline on the clans, go ahead, but do it with valid argument. Clans never supported new settings and they still don't.

poor grammar aside, that is one of the funniest statements ever echoed on this site, and still falls patently false as it is a blatant lie. clans, and their pushing of cement settings on the site, have everything to do with it. the change from a casual gaming site to a cement site, where games went from a day or two to a MONTH OR MORE, falls flatly on the lap of the clans. throw in the changing of the freestyle rule and that entire community (almost a full 1/3rd of CC) vanishing almost overnight, and you have to two major factors in CC's decline. to make it clear for you:
Freestyle Rule Change + CLAN BACKED Cement Settings Galore = CC Demise

yes they did. search is your friend. you weren't here for it, you are getting the cc cleansed version of the facts. and now, can we stay on topic? aside from clans ruining CC with their cement setting edict, there have been several plausible and valid ideas to turn the decline around. are they ignored like the suggestions forum is ignored, simply because nobody is literally placed in charge of that forum? are the ideas that have been poured out and fine tuned in this forum, also falling on deaf ears? do i need to sent a truck full o' gator chips to get some sort of response?!!-Bj

I don't think so, but others, like owen, may disagree. Too many folks have left and too much time has passed. I'm sure most of them have moved onto other internet distractions. I would love for it to do so, however!

by some accounts, a full 1/3rd of the site vanished with the rule change. why did we change it? because guys like [player]Blitzaholic[/player] found it impossible to catch guys like [player]Rabbiton[/player] and [player]King Herpes[/player], when they were at the top of the board!!! Rabbit would rattle off 100 straight without a loss in a few days, there was no way a sequential player could ever top the leader board... King Herpes point gap above the closest player was so immense, he could have sat out for over a month and nobody would have taken over the top spot.
so what happened? the weight of THOTA and certain MODS pressed down on the site and the freestyle rules were changed, to make it more "FAIR" to guys like blitz. the real solution was a scoreboard for freestyle players (there were that many), but then people argued we would need boards for all types of games. regardless, when they killed freestyle, the site took arguably it's biggest hit... is it too late? who knows?!! freestyle was awesome, even if you were a freemium!!! you could play freestyle speed games ALL FREAKING DAY LONG, it was great for people that loved that sort of thing... anyway, rambling... the black jesus has spoken...-Bj

If this game was ever fun to you though, at some point you poke back in to see whats up. I did a few times before coming back. Porn is an internet distraction, but still find my way back here.

I think the mods did the right thing to make the game more fair. A freestyle speed game back then was a completely different type of gameplay versus the turn based strategy involved in the core of this game. Although, I do agree with you that a scoreboard for that style of play would have definitely been a relevant solution. I see where the counterargument for that comes into play, but that is a "slippery slope" argument, which annoys me most of the time.
Owen, I would like to see the old freestyle games come back. There was an dynamic and exciting subculture for this site in that regard. I dont know if it would turn a decline around, but i think it would bring some old butts back to the seats.

God you are so full of shit it's squirting out of your tear ducts.
There was never any "vanishing almost overnight." Many people have posted the graph of CC's decline, and it's always been a gradual process, from 2009 to the present. Some years a little steeper, some years a little less, but never any kind of overnight exodus. Always a gradual process.
On CC, as on any game site, the main reason people leave is they're bored. Mainly, it's from not enough new settings, not from too many. You start with a game as inherently dull as Risk, you have to keep adding bells and whistles at a pretty fast clip to prevent boredom. If you look at name-brand Risk, nowadays it has sound effects and actual cavalry galloping across the screen, and even with that they can't stop its slow and gradual decline, because at its core, Risk is a pretty dull game.
Conquer club has done better than anyone else, reaching past the inherent dullness of Risk with interesting new maps and interesting new gameplay options to keep people from getting bored. With those, it's lasted a lot longer than most people thought it would. Still, it's never enough.

absolutely... ask the freestyle players... games went from 100's to 10's to what we have now... this is not something that can be disputed... CC has always cooked the books for membership, you can see the books being cooked multiple times in this thread... freestyle was killed as we knew it, and that community is GONE. please point to where they are, if they are still here. thank you.-Bj

---------I don't think Jn was saying in one night...But a short time...But it has been the actions and choices of The High Command that has driven many, many, many away in droves...Granted most damage was done by the previous 2 owners...BW still has a chance to write the ship...BUT THE HIGH COMMAND IS STILL MAKING HORRIBLE PR CHOICES!...
---------People were having fun in this year's Feb challenge...A couple of people were acting like jackasses...Ruining everyone's fun...People kept begging for action...Nothing was done...So to kiss the ass of 2 or 3 people...The High Command chose to piss off 2/3 hundred people... AWESOME PR MOVE...
---------MAPS WITH TO MUCH TO GO THROUGH...ARE ALSO CHASING NEW COMERS AWAY...INSTEAD OF SLAPPING YOUR ARMIES RIGHT DOWN ...THROWING THE DICE AND BATTLING FROM THE START...WITHOUT HAVING TO READ A NOVEL OF DIRECTIONS FIRST...
CLASSIC RISK...IS WHY PEOPLE COME HERE IN THE FIRST PLACE......RISK IS NOT BORING...
ConfederateSS.out!(The Blue and Silver Rebellion)...
THERE ARE MANY REASONS...FOR THE MASSES FLEEING...BUT THE MAIN FAULT LIES WITH THE HIGH COMMAND'S...WONDERFUL PR MOVES...

yes they did. search is your friend.
What should I be looking for ? settings changed by clans ? I don't think I will have any results if I search that.
Search is my friend when I know what to look for. I think I have shown you before that I know how to use search. So either give precision, or stop spreading false rumors
Btw, I probably missunderstood, but if you are suggesting clans are responsible for the change of the freestyle rule, LMFAO !
Clans do not play freestyle.
You cannot blame the clans as a whole because it was some THOTA member that pushed for this change. It is like blaming all black for one black guy did, which is obviously stupid.
Change of the freestyle rule had nothing to do with clans, period. As it is the case for probably all the game settings change, unless you prove otherwise.
