Surrender was also used for game hopping which is poor sportsmanship

you mean people surrendering just before they die? so you never get the chance to actually kill that person?

No, I mean people would not like the setup or the opponents or whatever and leave games early on.

I think a surrender button like this would work:
1. It makes you unable to take your turn, in effect skipping your turn when it comes up.
2. It leaves you in the game - so you can still be defeated and your cards taken, and points lost, and you can't yet join another game.
Something like this couldn't really be abused. It would only be for people who wanted to leave the game honorably, and discontinue playing WITHOUT delaying the game for an entire day each time their turn came about.
Or maybe it should be changed so people can only miss 2 turns before they are eliminated.
surrender idea

i think there should be an option to quit in the middle of the game but all ur territories and armies get turned into computer controlled ones where the computer only atacks once a turn

Take a look at the Suggestions Box before posting, and search also. There are many topics.

I suggest that there should be a surrender button and that it should work exactly like when someone is away from the game 2 rounds => the person is kicked and his/hers areas turn white.
the problem with the cards is not a problem cause today, anyone can just leave a game and not play for 2 rounds and be kicked and then the cards also are gone...

in what way was it abused? i dont see how it could have been as long as surrendering meant losing (without having to wait)

You surrender and your opponent doesnt get your cards if they kill you.
Then have a surrender button when only two people are left in a game. If it's a terminator game points will still be awarded properly. In any other game nobody cares about cards if you've won.
Suggestions for games, particularly 2 player games.

I really enjoy the site, and quickly bumped up to premium membership. But I would like to see a way in which people can make it known that a "real-time" game is what they're after. I don't know if it can be enforced in any way, but it could make things go faster for those who like that.
And especially with two player games: allow for someone to surrender! You usually know if you're going to have a chance at some point... no reason to drag it out.
As you can see, I enjoy playing fast, two player games and I notice others like that as well. These might be helpful.

You can try going to the live chat to set up a realtime game with people and since you have premium you can make a password and just tell the people in the live chat who want to rt. Also, try the callouts section in the forum.

and surrender button will never happen. Its been rejected too many times. It was once a part of the site, but was abused (especially by multis) and has been removed

Personally, I have been wondering if it would be possible to add and option during the game creation process to have a little "Real Time" icon up next to the game number in the "Join A Game" list. That would be a nice little perk.

This feature has been removed from CC. We had it when the site first started, but it was abused. You joined the game, play it out to the end.

Yeah, I hear about the "surrender" button being rejected- what were the problems there exactly? I'm just curious. I did, however, think there would be potential for abuse somewhere, but I'm not exactly sure where.
So maybe I am suggesting that there be a "concede" option for only two player games then. Maybe that wouldn't work either, but then again, what's the harm? It's not like for doubles games with six players in which if a deadbeat surrenders out it really impacts the game for everyone- with this option, two players can end what is clearly ended anyway. It's just a thought.
And the "real time" button sounds great to me, the only problem I see is that it can only express the willingness to play a RT game. Things do come up and there would be no way to enforce it except the feedback that more or less polices the site anyway, and common decency should indicate that if you have to say, "Gotta go dude- my house is on fire here," then that should be acceptable...

Now I see- a multi could have two accounts for himself and play one vs. the other, and keep surrendering out until they were ranked the best... god damn multis...

Multis made 1v1 games and all one had to do is surrender and the other account racked up points

The speed games will have less time per turn, so basically, instead of 24 hours to take your turn you will only have 20 minutes or something.

I'm guessing it will be an hour actually.
