Other than Nark's typo...Looking at it, I see either voting for Nark for what could be a slipup and scumtell, or it could just be a simple typo. On the other hand, I see wing which I felt there was a solid case for made in my previous post...

The last one of them to survive will be crowned the Champion.
Was rereading thread (and still am so I can post something more meaningful) and noticed this interesting tidbit from day 1 starting post. The bolded part insinuates that the trainers have one pokemon already, so it's entirely possible that we could go through the thread and sniff out teams of two if we wanted to find trainer/pokemon pairs.
I can see I've picked up a few votes, but for anyone else watching, I think Mandy's story clue here is important.
Those kid trainers are almost 100% certain to be 'town' trainers. As for Team Rocket, while yes, it's
likely they'll be here, it's by no means guaranteed. Giovanni I would say is likely sitting in the 'godfather' role, but he was never really a 'trainer' per se. More like a businessman who constantly got he lackies doing his work for him.
Don't think he's been mentioned yet but Gary Oak might be here too, maybe in a 3rd party capacity.
In a nutshell, I don't believe those are good enough odds to target what you believe is a trainer. You're more likely to hit town.

I was banking on the 'almost' part of that rule being true and that there's at least
some protective-type role out there. I wouldn't have thought Pokemon can defend themselves since most moves (in the games at least) are offensive.
FYI there is a move called protect.

However, it was only introduced in Gen II. (wow it feels like it's been around forever. SO MANY YEARS.)
In Gen 1 we called it Harden.

Can you elaborate please on how you think that makes him scummy ? Is your suggestion that all trainers are scum as that would be invalid. In the anime there are bad and good trainers, and good and bad Pokemon too (koffing, meowth, ekans) etc

Hey all, I'm read up, missed yesterday due to work and just now finishing up at midnight my time due to having played paintball today, and I'm exhausted. I'm sorry for my inactivity, and I'll make a post within 24 hours on the current events and anything else that I thought was important since my last post.
To kind of answer your question Talapus, I feel like I've read somewhere that Ash is about ten, Misty twelve, Brock a little older, like thirteen/fourteen, and then Jesse and James were fifteen/sixteen, though don't quote me on that, it was a long time ago when I read about it.

@Nark: don't sell it too short. I was playing a bit of a doubting Thomas on the Masket case but there was some warrant to it.
Well, I thought it was a pretty awesome catch... I also stuck to it, and was lambasted for it. So, I backed off. Trump, I mean WingCommander and, IIRC, Fircoal, were the ones who thought I had no idea what I was talking about and that I should give him the benefit of the doubt.

The masket case is interesting. The soft claim is oddly timed but usually scum have more information than town at the beginning of the game so a slip like this from scum is even more odd. Possible lone scum?
As usual, you nailed that. That makes so much sense to me...

This would make it sound like your change of heart was because of my comment. Even if not I feel that you seem a bit overly worried about others thoughts in this game regarding yourself. Funny that you mention being helpful as a scum tactic. I dont disagree. Empty help is is a fairly common scum tactic. I can see possible evidence of this with you as a lot of your post content could be considered that with set up talk and suggestions about activity level.
The rest of this paragraph is going back into trying not to upset people too much. You kind of buddied up to a few people here (myself included) and have continued to do so at least with me.
Combined with the possible slip mentioned, I am up for upping the pressure.

Thank you for the suggestion and thanks to other people who have sent me PMs to warn me about the people who aren't posting. Before I give you my take on this,
I would like to ask all the players to PM me their opinion on the subject (so as to not clutter the thread):
Firstly, from the perspective of the Golden Age of CC mafia (back when dinosaurs roamed the Earth

) you are correct that this game is not very active. Back then, new posts were comming in almost all the time as many among us had been spending hours on the Forum waiting for other players to repond to their posts and then instantly responding to them.
Today, sadly, many of you went and grew up

, so you don't have time to do this any more. Then there is also the fact that the posting so far has predominantly been of the long, thought out variaty - which requires careful reading before reponding and which means that a serious player has to set aside a bigger chunk of time for each response and, because of all the "growing up" bussiness, they have less time. In fact, many players, especially among those whos sleaves I pulled to asked them to join, were upfont with the fact that they won't be able to post very frequantly.
The other concern is that our bench is kind of short right now. We have just two players that I'm familliar with and who are willing to sub. Since subbing is a permanent sort of deal, especially since it is going to be very hard to reuse existing players after they die, since many of them will come by at least some exclusive information in a few Nights and thus unsutable for subbing.
Idealy, I absolutely agree with you that anyone who decided to play should be expected to find the time to actually participate at least 4 days per week and, if you perspective is shared by the majority of active players, I would be happy to change the prodding policy in the way that you described. I would much appriciate if you guys PM me me on this matter. If you are time-challanged, just give me a simple 'yay' or 'nay' (and make it clear enough for my simple mind what exactly you are yaying or naying

)
P.S. Since there is 26 of you so it's hard for me to notice when one of you drops of. If you notice someone submarrining, please PM me "x hasn't posted in y days." and I'll prod them. Thanks in advance.P.P.S. For all you busy people, please make an effort to write at least a short post every day or so. I know it's a lot to ask, but *

The Nark "slip" is a bad case and anyone pushing it should feel bad. I strongly suspect that out of sw, BuJaber and HotShot one or more are scum for pushing something so outrageously bad. I am not really sure which I want to vote for. I will vote strike wolf purely because out of the three of them he already has a vote and so that slightly breaks the tie in the direction of having a wagon happen.

So I think it's fair to assume based on the intro that there are at least 3 factions; Scum (Team Rocket), Town (Trainer) and 3rd party (Pokemans). Also based on the intro I would surmise that the scum win condition is just the traditional method of being the largest faction left, whereas town win is not so simple.
mandalorian2298 wrote:The last one of them to survive will be crowned the Champion.
This obviously means that each "Townie" trainer and pokemon are being set against each other
and scum in order to win. With this in mind we should be treating this as any normal game until scum are dealt with, meaning that slips like Masket's should be noted but not voted on as to lynch Masket if he is a Trainer would only serve scum even if it is in another Trainers interest to eliminate a rival.
Yes it is possible that he slipped a town role in order to not appear as scum but having no idea how experienced Masket is in order to judge whether the slip was due to inexperience or clever ploy I am going to go with my gut and treat it as an innocent slip to be noted for the future.
More to come as I catch up.

A very short post by me, as I have work in 5 hours and I haven't slept yet XD
Sure, Nark has seemed a bit off throughout the game, but I don't think he slipped. Sorry but typing errors are so easy to make that basing a case around one is so spectacularly flimsy that I don't trust anyone that would use it.
So I'll FOS Bujaber for that, and also hotshot and Strike. Strike at least had other basis for his vote, so I'll give him a pass on that. Hotshot has the added bonus of voting based on that bad logic and using someone elses bas reasoning, so he gets the bigger FOS for now.
Another FOS goes for Madmitch, as I am not even sure what is going on there. His last post was literally nothing, and before that he posted a whoooole load of questions that no one can reasonably give all the answers to. It's legit just a useless post that serves nothing but to look like he's doing something.
Biggest FOS goes to Wing for the moment, for seemingly be targeting Tim but being unwilling to go into any depth as to why and expecting us to just 'get' why he is doing it.

Mostly done with reading but the topic that sticks out for me at the moment is the Minister Masket slipping a trainer role claim, on one hand he's lying trying to seem townie but on the other he's genuinely f****d up. Either way I think there should be some focus on those that are voting on Masket, there may be scum in there looking for an easy lynch or it could all be "Townies" looking to take out a rival.
Those players are:
madmitch,
Fircoal,
Yoshi,
Serbia,
Anark
madmitch for me seems the scummiest out of this group (sure anark put "we" in his post but as others have said this is a slim case) mostly for this post:
madmitch wrote:Okay guys and gals the only thing I know about Pokemon is what I see on netflicks, I have been reading about them in wiki and am starting to make some sense of it all. In general it seems to be mostly a case of trying to fish for some information, especially the section I have put in bold. As for the most part the layout of the game was both agreed in general before this post and for the most part doesn't really matter as the goal is the same in any game; find the mafia.

I've previously mentioned that Anark's early aggression against wing seemed scummy to me. I didn't see a reason to write every tiny red flag about him. In fact, had I done that THAT would have been me overly pushing a weakish case.
Plus, Anark got the attention of a few players early. I know that a typo is possible that's why I said it seems too good to be true. And I didn't push anything. It's a weak case, but in my eyes it's still on par with the case on masket or tim or dakky, or my earlier case on skittles, if not slightly better. Besides -- not all typos are the same. He clearly didn't try to type "they", the letters are completely different. He either thought of the wrong pronoun by mistake, in which case I can't see why he couldn't have noticed it by proofreading and edited before or even after posting it by WOP; OR he typed "we" because he was thinking "we" in his mind and so didn't immediately catch the error.
Also focusing on a player early on does not necessary mean you're 100% convinced their scum, there is a lot to be gained from sparking up a debate/new posts. I clearly achieved that.
Anark is claiming he posted it on the phone, which I admit makes the mistake more plausible because proofreading is harder, but sometimes you have to trust your gut even when the evidence is minimal.
The mitch case might be the best one we have so far, particularly following his post full of questions. But mitch has traditionally been an "easy" target and one that I've often mistaken as scum just because of how he posts/thinks. Though his latest "quality" post of 3 words is seriously scummy. Just because the players and the mod are asking people to post more doesn't mean you should if you have nothing to say. No post is better than a useless post.
Wing has gotten quieter... what's up with that?
Anark it feels like of the people currently with a vote on you, strike and I are 2 of the most active in this game (which is rather pathetic, considering how little we actually posted), with hotshot posting about the average. There are so many others who could be accused of scummarining.
FP'd by nagerous -- I didn't even realize you were in the game because you started off so quiet, but I am liking your contribution more and more with each post.
