PS: joking of course. i'll take a good look at it this night at work and i'll post my observations

I use Jasc Paint Shop Pro 7, so im not sure if you can do it in whatever program you did.

1-The first thing i did was select the river (not the lake).

2-Then i went to the textures, and used these settings (the texture was called "lands":

3- i blurred it.

4- I grabbed the lake also

5- I used an effect called "cutout" with these settings:

6-I blurred once more

I just used the exact steps above and got this:

Not sure - bottom left castle is V close to both Merc Camp and Gold mine...

i agree, i think you should break the western most bridge.

also the gold mine looks wrong, if you look at the bottom of the cave bit it is in hte middle of the grass :shock:

LOL ill fix that. the bridge was broken but it then isolated the gold mine to one empire.

ill play around again and see what i come up with

But the empire you've isolated it to is furthest from the Merc Camp...

Which is more important than putting both Merc Camp and Gold mine closer to 1.

if the worst comes to the worst you could add a gold trading route to connect a empire to the gold mine.

I think the gold mine should be on the central island then every empire could be connected to it

actually thats not a bad idea.

i told DiM i did want any ports ect. but i could add about 3 ports that all connect to the mine area.

I can close of the wall to the empire directly over the mine

then but a few gold barges in the river.

Hm, as much as I love discussion in maps, it seems discussion between all the cartographers is better suited for PM, instant messaging, or some other form of communication rather than posting. I think you may be scaring off other potential posters. ;)

NEW LOOKS!

I re-organized this map to give space for more terrs, it has now been increase from 90 to 126 terrs.

TO-DO

1. Ask DiM really nicely to make 3 new castles
2. Complete the mini map and legends
3. Add terr names
4. Add 1 village i forgot about lol
5. Decided weather the old gold mine merc camp resource pair should stay or go

I'm a bit confused how cartographer suggestions on how to improve a map are different from other ones. What are we permitted to discuss in the forums?

EDIT: I hope you guys don't think I'm trying to be difficult. I'm not. I just really don't understand what feels like a lot of new unwritten rules. I'd like for it to be clear for everyone.

There was nothing wrong with it per say. But there was a lack of space and rather than squeeze everything in i thought id just redo it all. And im more than happy with the results
