I've tried everything with the mountains possible, and we decided these were best if I got rid of the sharp angles which I did.

The army shadows are translucent.. transparent means completely see through and that would mean not there. translucent is between opaque and that.

and the map isnt hovered.

textures look bad, especially the grey countries and the water. The name also isn't very nice looking, uve had better updates than this,

those are all the same as here where no one had problems with teh texture and andy said it was 99% in the right direction. I dont know why everyone is changing their minds now. The only think i've done is fix spelling errors try and make the mountains sharp and add a title.

Work on an inset to include Corsica in the map! :) If you started working on that a couple of months ago when I mentioned that to you, this map would be finished! :p

The title needs a more interesting font.

The impassables REALLY need changing. Those mountains (if that's what they are) need going over. Perhaps either a flat line or actual mountain graphic? As for the rivers, they either need a black border the same as the coastline or they need to be differentiated through different graphics. At the moment they look like water has spilled onto the map.

Borders in general are also very pixellated and go thicker in some areas.

Textures are OK, but not brilliant. I'd prefer to see some other options perhaps.

The legend is nice and crips, good job, and I do like the sea texture a lot.

Yeah, I dont know what to do with the impassables, so if anyone has an image of a mountain they would like done go for it I'd be glad to use it.

I'm going to work on borders when I have time to be more specific.

I could work on other textures it may take a second, but I will have options.

And I agree about the legend and sea so I probably wont change those

and there will be no corsica.

Several things need changing, as far as I can see, most involving naming (I refer to your map posted 17 Feb 2007):

a) Either change the name of your continent "Alps" to "Provence" or the name of your country "Alpes" to "Provence" or "Nice" to avoid confusion. Provence is a region of South-East France and Nice is a city in your "Alpes" country.

b) Change the name of your continent "Pyranees" to "Aquitaine" to avoid confusion with the country Pyrenees, or at least spell it correctly (It's Pyrenees, not Pyranees)

c) There's a country in the continent "Alps" that appears to have no name.

d) Add Corsica in an inset, split it in 2 and call it it's own continent, worth 1 army, or make it part of "Alps" and leave it as one piece.

e) The Army shade for "Pais de Calais" is in "Nord"

f) At the moment you have 43 countries, not a very round number, try 42.

Apart from all that, I think you're doing a great job and you've made a great improvement since your original map. With a bit of work, It could be really good, and Andy would be wrong not to pass it :D

Keep up the good work!!

Good map....but I really agree that Corsica should be included...and you've left out the most important name in the whole world....Champagne... :o

The French would be mortified

I drew this up in an hour? Does it look better. Also, what do you guys think of the white borders, should they be black and would that make this better.

A few things i'm already working on before you suggest them.

Names.. I think this one could probably do without army shadows.. we'll see though

Title

Inset for corsica

take a touch or light blur over the boarders, currently they look a little pixalated.

EDIT: Texture wise this map reminds me of my portugal map. Its texture soft and looks nice . Keep it up rev
