The greatest torture to me would be if I developed an allergy to meat. I don't think I would go insane if I couldn't have steak or ribs.

I believe that the major contribution of the USA to world cuisine is the Philly cheesesteak. I can't resist 'em.

Philly cheesesteak is good. but I actually prefer meat by itself with a light to moderate seasoning. Any kind of breading or cheese has always just taken away from the taste for me.

BTW, I was at work today and I was going to break and all the anime fans who work with me were on break too. So since it was break they decided it would be cool to decide which Bleach character each us was most like. Long story short, they all decided that I am the most like Aizen (the villian). After that there was still some time to go so they decided to do the same thing for Death Note. This time they felt I was most like Light, the protagonist of the series whose main mission is to wipe out "evil" using a Death Note. Anyways, I just thought it was funny that both times they felt I was the person that they all felt was the most evil even though I am one of the more well-liked people who work there. Really I can agree with Light, I think he's a pretty interesting character and I've been told that I do a pretty good impression of him, but I don't feel that I'm all that much like Aizen.

In most cases, I'm kinda on your side here (unless we're talking Indian food, which is a whole different category) - but I'd never tasted a Philly before moving to the US (for obvious reasons), and (partly because of the excellent quality of the local beef) my first one blew me away and I've been an addict ever since.

But what's this with the grilled peppers being added, which I see far too often? One ingredient too many.

Oh, and once they put in mushrooms too.
NO!

nothin wrong with mushies or peppers in their place -but this is not in a Philly.

Now: anyone want an expert rendition of the difference between Brit Corned Beef and US corned beef?

Best answer to feeling you have to devote every moment to your child (experience talking here) -have another.

Then it's impossible to spend all your time with the first one, and he (and you) have to deal with it.

One day you'll miraculously realise that (i) since you can't spend all the time with child a, and (ii) since you can't spend all the time with child b, therefore (iii) you can allow yourself a little time that isn't totally devoted to either. ;)

Yeah, I don't really like peppers on any kind of meat. To the side, doesn't bother me, but on it, It just seems to distract from the meat's natural flavor.

Mushrooms? ON a Philly? Now that just makes me sick.

Go ahead I'd love to hear it.

No long story, just that I live in New Jersey, and they got it wrong.

The best cheesesteak I've had so far was from a fast-food place in Atlanta airport. I wasn't expecting much, but it was DEEElicious.

That's because:

A) Atlanta places more care and money into the airport than it does to the rest of the city combined and

B) back about 20-30 years ago we had a lot of people from Philly and NYC migrate down here so I'm sure between all of them at least one of them knew how to make a great Philly.

Because they feel bad for them.

It's funny, a part of me doesn't want to have kids, but another part of me just laughs and says "well you better decide you want them because it's going to happen eventually."

Doesn't have to - plentya folks happy without 'em.

And it's important to have 'em, if you do, because you want them with this partner. Remember, it's like you and the other parent are two packs of cards. shuffle 'em together, deal 'em out, and that 's the kids. Better make sure you like at least most of both packs first.

I've always wanted kids, and yet somehow with my first wife, the question never really came up. I shoulda spotted that clue earlier. And I think I'm pretty smart.

Yeah, that makes sense.

I think most of it for me is that i feel I'm too young to be thinking about this stuff. I may want to have kids in the future but I definitely don't right now.

It's heaven right here right now - my parents finally went home, and I can feel sanity setting back on me like a comfortable old t-shirt. Farewell, Tad and Mum. Nos Da.

Now that they're gone, I enjoyed it. Like the situations you got into that are fun to relive but not that much fun to live.

I'll be seeing them soon enough on my next trip to the UK (but this time there'll be the in-laws too :o :? ) - but at least this time we won't be in the same house - I've booked two apartments near my in-laws.

Sadly, this was intended to be so Mum could visit with her brother, but he snuffed it a few weeks ago.
