True, I was just thinking of ways to keep number of regions high, while removing the boats....

Oh, and Nassau is the correct spelling....and I believe the Shelter Island Ferry doesn't actually go to the North Fork, but for gameplay it should connect to each fork.
Hope that is what you were looking for, I have plenty more info if you want.....
with all of thes sub deveisions, i don't think there will be room for army circles or territ names, and to have them clumped up outside of the territ borders, might make things get cluddered
Hey guys,
Just a bit of advice. I think you might get farther by deciding some real basics before going at this. Some people are saying delete boats, and you guys say sure. Some say add highway, you guys says sure. Some say split territories, you guys say sure. Some say add airport, you say...nothing.
My point is, you don't seem to have any sort of idea about the theme or purpose of the map. You have gotten some decent graphics together, and each revision they are improved. It seems one of you lives in the Hamptons, and that is the only real theme you have.
Community input drives this process, but why don't you take a step back, regroup your ideas, and have a clear path of where you want to go. Right now, it seems like 13 different people are working on this map, on 17 different parts. Decide, boats or no? Then move on, decide, split territories or not.
I have never created a map, and don't claim to know how to. I am just telling you that right now I can't contribute because I have no idea what is going on. I think it is admirable that you have stuck with this so far. I also think it is good that you are (albeit in VERY tiny baby steps) learning manners and patience around the boards.
Best of luck to you both, hopefully this will move on forward.

EDIT* It is spelled cluttered, not cluddered, unless maybe you are from Baltimore.

Long island is famous for it's approach to prohibition...
Perhaps include this in the map somewhere?

Why do you guys keep messing up your polls? I've deleted it, as it seemed pretty pointless with 6 of each choice....
And it's time to think about moving this map up a level
[Advanced Draft]

Polls don't work correctly in the Foundry for some odd reason
Nicely done on stamp

I do agree that the boats make the harbor look busy. They clash strongly with the land and do not seem to face in a particular pattern.
Perhaps unifying the boat territories is in order. Consider Battleship [the guessing game]. A battleship (or a tanker or a cruise liner) is four territories together. The other boats could be tugboats or some boat performing a task that relates it to either the land or the other boats.
Long Island territories have thematic unity and variation. Check if variation improves the map here.

Stop fiddling with them! When a poll has finished, PM one of the CAs to post the results and remove it. You canlt change poll options or create a new poll without deleting the old one first

Overall it looks like a well presented map, and pretty unique setting.
The ripples around the harbour are great. Not sure if they might also look good around the shores at the edges of the map (non-playable areas)?
I agree with the above point about the harbour being busy, although there are busier maps out there.
Also worth considering, from a gameplay perspective, that its a long way from the east to the west. Perhaps re-arranging the boat set up could solve both of these points in one?

i will change that, maybe have the whole first line of boats connect to the costal spots and everywhere ese just connecting to each other, or something lik that
