Mind gathering the Final Small and Large Map file locations, in addition to the XML? Then lets get this done. :)

          Beta - Quenching

---The Final Forge period has concluded for the Brazil REVAMP Map. All objections have had their time. The Foundry and I hereby brand this map with the Foundry Brand. Let it be known that this map is now ready for BETA Play. After an extended period of time in BETA and once all quirks and issues have been resolved, the map will be put into Full Play (barring any Lack vetoes).

Conquer Club, enjoy!

Yay. Now the jarful of smashed assholes that is the original map (sorry, marv... it plays great tho) can be consigned to the rubbish bin. Congrats, RJ!

Nice looking map even if I get the 100 acre woods in my head. I know I am late to the party, but is there anyway we could get the impassables (The green and yellow lines to a different more distinct color? For the people who know the map well it is not such a problem, but many will have issues with it who do not play that map so much. This is given the chosen color scheme of the territories.

2 Reasons

1. It is semi hard to see given the trees so people will not know what it means.
2. Given the fact it looks like a thick border people might mistake it as such and try to cross it.

Sorry if this has been mentioned already, but just completed my first sweep on it. Nice looking map. :)

P.S. Thanks for fixing the Northeast area. The people who use Clickable maps welcome the changes!

yeah yeah.... I should have been around a bit more when this was in progress, but I took my usual quick look and said nice. Can't wait till it comes out. RJ does good work. But is this not what the Beta part is about? to Fix the small things? If it is deemed as such.

bruce - the beta is for fixing gameplay issues or significant graphic issues that may have been missed during the foundry process. The impassible borders were a big discussion - Marv wanted something unnatural (ie. no mountains, rivers, etc). So the thick glowing style lines are what i came up with. I've tweaked them since the beginning, but they've been pretty much consistent for the past year, when this map started.

I feel that if a new player tries this map, he'll be able to easily see the bonus regions, and easily see the impassible legend off to the side. The tree's on the background are dark, and do not interfere with it. I've viewed it on several monitors, and have run it through the color blind tests. All seemed okay.

You suggest to change :The green and yellow lines to a different more distinct color?" - what do you mean.

I am not saying to change the lines, but the color of them. I liked them in the old map(even if they were tough to see) and I like them now. Maybe instead of green and yellow blend you could use orange and yellow? Something that sticks out a bit more and says do not pass me.

The Green on Green in the tree's might be a bit of problem for some. It took be a bit to notice it, not that it effected my game but the Orange / Yellow combo would stick out more.

To better get my point across... Say you are driving down the road, and you see Billboards along side it.

This one

and this one

Which one are you more likely to notice?

Personally most would notice the one first with contrasting colors. Same reason Open Signs are Blue and Red etc etc. I think you get the point.

(EDIT) I get the point sure, but sometimes hard contrast doesn't fit well into the artistic theme of a map. I'll see if any other members agree with you. I really don't want to change this, since I'm unofficially retired from maps, but I also want the best looking map possible...

here's a previous draft.. like this?
