Please show or explain.

I just basically used the colors from the old map.
I think the purple should be white,

Only issue I have is that I can't distinguish the border on Resolute. Nothing too serious though. I like the progress though.

I'd rather we didn't change the continent colors from the original. That isn't a rule about revamps or anything, just how I feel.

You don't need to distinguish b/c Resolute is connected with attack lines.
My problem is if Taloyoak and Iqualuit connect. I think they do, but I've just discovered this if so.

I agree. That is why i kept them the same.

Correct. That is what the yellow attack lines are for.
As far as Taloyoak and Iqualuit, I edited the border lines at the north east edge of Baker Lake. Now it is easier to see they all touch.
Anything else?
P.S. I moved number and name down for Victoria. Now it is easier to see the actual island on the map.

I don't particularly mind maps without army shadows because I think circles around the numbers often look tacky. But on this map some of the numbers are hard to read because they sit on rather dark territories.
Then I noticed countries like Baker Lake, Chuchill, Timmies and Nunavik where the number sits on top of an area of clouds. I think it has a really nice effect of making the number stand out so its easy to read, yet it doesn't ruin the look of the map. So if you could just create a lighter swatch beneath some of the darker territories I think it would improve the map a lot

Also I'm in favor of changing the color of the continents, though I understand why you and Coleman prefer to keep them the same. I think replace yellow with purple, and making the current purple white would be a big improvement to the feel of the map. More Canadian as Mibi put it and more cool colors on the map (along the lines of the Arctic map). Red I don't particularly mind since its a Canadian color, but white would be a great addition I think.

Changing the purple areas to white would require a lot more work.
1) The territory names are all white - white on white doesn't go well. Would need to change territory name colors
2) The clouds are white.
3) Greenland [and possibly the US] are fairly close to white - would need to reconsider the dead land color
WM,
I'll admit I have NOT read the other 19 pages, so I apologize if someone has already brought up the following issues:
Teal army # on Winnipeg (just wondering how the yellow overlaying the lake would affect teal army numbers).
I'm having a difficult time making out Gaspeste - I think it's mainly because the name cuts through the top border, seems like it could be 2 different terrs.

If anyone can make it work WM can.

Really??? I think it looks horrible. I hate the "deadness" of the north. The map is now very cold.

One minor thing I might consider, is perhaps adjusting the yellow route from Resolute and Taloyoak. Instead of having the route go from Resolute to the island of Tal., would it perhaps be better to have the route strike the peninsula on the left?

It does that on the previous pic. I must have edited it back to the old position for the new "white" map

I wouldn't mind a minor variation between the Territories and the non-gameboard areas, but I think over all it looks quite good.

Well I hate it! SO where do we go from here. I made the changes and am not happy with the suggestion. The change does not affect gameplay so it is really an artistic opinion. Who decides?

perhaps reinstateing praires as yellow may bring back a little warmth to the map. After all it was the central area of brightness.

i have two suggestions,
1. how about you try to rotate it a little south, its kinda hard to see the top of the map.
2. how about you change the white in the north to yellow? just like switching the purple and yellow.(well, i'd think it'd be cool

)

You mean remake the entire map again?
Well you see this is really a 2D image of a 3D object. Rotating would require a whole new map. Not gonna happen.

I will look into it.

the frozen white north is so fitting.
