ok, you guys know what, i'm going back to the original one that Gnome helped me make. I am changing the name to "Ancient Japan" and now i know how to use layers so this should go easyer, here is the map. Start suggesting!(i know its blury and alittle pixeled but thats because its saved as bmp and uploaded to photobucket):

Yes, i know the islands arn't where they are in real life but if you put them where they go the right way the map is too big, see here:

This is 668X788 which is over the size limit, thats why its like it is.

I think that some guys before you create Japan map,and he dont have size problem,so i belive that its posible to put island in right place.
Here what you ask, ofcourse colours and others efect(shadows .glows...) can create you.

i really think that the new version is much better, but the misplaced islands look awkard...

The graphics look indeed better, but the whole island thing really throws off the whole map. When a Japan map was originally tried by Haydena, he just tilted Japan at an angle (think how Italy was done by RJbeals)...which allowed him to keep the ends where they geographically are. I think he had to have a little cut off in the north, but the integrity of the geography was kept intact...
