Remember that since it's a reverting neutral, it will almost never get to be 3 digits. (be it without color codes 100, or with color codes r10).
Wish I had thought of that earlier, I could have made a few of them closer to the boats...Pike, Mohun, Ledyard, and Clark can all be pushed a bit to the right.

That makes sense.
So where possible I'll put them both next to the boats or the name, but there will be a couple that have one 88 next to the boat and one next to the name.

I think even if they are mixed, it will be pretty clear.
You shouldn't need to move "Bering Sea" now that you can move those two army numbers to the right a bit.
One thing you could do, though, is push SS Circe up a little bit for a steeper angle. You can then probably put the Pike army number a bit closer to the name or boat.
Salak can also probably go down. Anyway, this is a prototype, if you decide to go this route VJ can go a bit farther with this.

With moving the 888's there shouldn't be any need to add "S.L." to the small boats, so forget I mentioned it.

Oh, I thought you referenced the army numbers, not SL. Yeah you don't need the SL if you format it this way.

Ok, so here is the new v13.0 of the small map. It actually looks pretty good, with the exception of Pike which isn't too bad, but all in all it works great. Thanks for the help Giligan!
I'm pretty sure everyone is going to like this version so I'll start adjusting the large, which won't take long, and then I'll update the xml with new coords. Then I'll redo all of the 888 versions, but by then hopefully the xml will be on it's way to stamping.
One thing you could do, though, is push SS Circe up a little bit for a steeper angle. You can then probably put the Pike army number a bit closer to the name or boat.
Also with Pryor, it might be better to go above the name to avoid confusion with Peary. Other than that, looks good.

Not sure if you saw this about Pike:

Thanks for the push Giligan. I think this is pretty much perfect.
CURRENT UPDATE INFO - 2013-10-19: Lots of changes with the finish line in sight. All for the best.
- Updated all of small boat 888's, moving them to the sides, so the boats are visible. (both maps) - Along those lines I also moved the army circles and 888's off of the Base Camp icons so they are visible as well. (both maps) - Due to the above changes I needed to redraw the Exploration Routes, and a couple tert borders. (both maps) - Made a few other minor graphics updates to the small.
This should pretty much fix everything, and show off the small boats and Base Camps. I hope you all like it.
I have also updated the XML, (alaska4.xml), and attached it.

Hey buddy! This map is a cool mixture of a normal map and a auto-deploy starter map like fuedal etc. I think this could be really neat!

Seamus,
As you can see from our new testing tool, I have noticed that Kennan is missing a killer neutral. Here is the fix for you. I haven't noticed anything else to be fixed, but will keep you notified!

thanks, I'll update the OP in a bit. Is there anything else I need to do?
Also, where do you find the actual testing tool to try it out? Or has it not been officially released yet?

Beta - Quenching
---The development period has concluded for the District of Alaska Map. The map has been tested and all objections have had their time. The Foundry and I hereby brand this map with the Foundry Beta Brand. Let it be known that this map is now ready for BETA Play. After an extended period of time in BETA and once all quirks and issues have been resolved, the map will be put into Full Play(barring any Admins or Foundry Foreman vetoes).
Conquer Club, enjoy!
While the map is in BETA Play, there are a couple of administrative tasks that are required of the mapmaker(s) in addition to the initial gameplay testing:
1. Please ensure that the first post of the thread contains all the necessary information to help future visitors to the development thread; it's particularly important to ensure the most recent images are there, along with any helpful guides (such as gameplay quirks/nuances or the location/size of any starting neutrals etc.) 2. It is the responsibility of the mapmaker(s) to ensure that they respond to further feedback in a timely and constructive manner. 3. Write a "creative" map description and send it to the Foundry Foreman via PM. You're encouraged to post it into the first post of the thread as well; the description will be used to populate the maps database.

Thanks again TNB! Do you by chance have an ETA on this one going into play?
