In regards to Dug's punishment, I think it was rather apt, and I applaud Lack and the other mods astute judgement.

I don't believe that it is fair that you can prosecute someone without clarifying the rules. When dug was doing it, he knew that it was not against the rules so he did it. You can make a new rule & say from here on out, if anybody does this again you will be banned...but you cannot punish someone when it wasn't against the rules while the deed was commited.

As he did make up a rule and didn't justify it, I believe that proves that he can and did.

You feel that the rule shouldn't be retro-active Hendy, but the ruling only applies to him! If we said that from NOW on yadda yadda yadda, we would be doing nothing about the problem.

As far as my non Anarchical comment's, I believe i have to step out of character for this problem.

To go to such great lengths is not in the spirit of good sportsmanship! It deteriorates the moral code of society if we don't take prompt action against brazen attempts of foul play. If dug wasn't reprimanded then we would be condoning his actions even if there was a rule set up directly afterwards.

Anarchy is based on the belief that when people govern themselves they will do, most of the time, the right thing. The belief that the inner restraints should be more than enough to stop you from doing things like this. If this was a anarchistic site I would do the same thing to dug. Smite the scornful to save the simple.

His character is flawed if he thinks that his actions were justified. Many moral and ethical questions were raised when this came to our attention.
Thats why I think it is important to support the decision that was made by Lack. He is setting the example and proving that he will not tolerate immoral, callow, unsportsmanlike, players! That is the moral ethics set by CC, and ours should at LEAST match those!

You know you can't yell fire in a crowded building when there isn't one. You can't threaten to kill a person. Those are just words, but they are still crimes. He strove to do wrong doing. That is intent, and he openly proclaimed motive.

You can't say that he is justified morally! Hendy, you took up the cause of a friend, and that is commendable, but you realize the flaw in his thinking.

His action could not be tolerated, and was deemed punishable.

Indeed, or to quote an even more heinous crime, intent to murder is also a crime. So intent intent to detract from fair play should also be one as fair play is one of the cornerstones of all the rules implemented here. It's just as the moderating team said, PROACTIVE measure to ensure fair play.

It appears to me that subjekt and tomtorresson are the beneficiaries of dugcarr1's points.
