Still working on finishing the RPI across all the teams...I plan to have new rankings released before Game 7 goes out, then it will be every two games through the end of the season.
It takes 5-6 games for the RPI numbers to really kick in as a realistic barometer anyway.

Mid-way thru the season Th braniacs at Wyoming University decided that muy-thaiguy wasn't cutting as their head coach. They came up with the brillant decision to hire Hank44Soccer. When asked about his new position Hank said "If this whole basketball things don't work out I'll be the cowboys new keeper for their soccer team." Unfortunatley 7th graders don't make ncaa regulations.

Great tourney flex - thanks for al the hard work.
I think the Loyola-Marymount Lions won the preseason tournament. According to the rules that means they won the 6th man award. But unsure what that means exactly, and how it's used, and how it's useful.
Sorry to bother you

For the 68 teams that make the March Madness field, the scoring format will shift to an eight-map format all held on neutral courts. Each map represents one player. During the regular season teams can earn "Power-Ups" by accomplishing various tasks...these will give you team a small boost in shooting percentage, etc for that March Madness phase of play.
The 6th man power-up gives one of your bench players the ability to put up a few more shots than a typical bench player. More details on this appear in the rules post at the start of the tourney thread.

Breaking News from CCSPN - The University of Texas Longhorns are the 2010 EA Sports 2K Champions. They defeated Charlotte 77-71. Here is Announce Vick Ditale with his recap: "Texas was Awesome with a capital A baby! Coach Caz has him some diaper dandies that are deadly from trifecta land. They showed outstanding defense down the stretch to take over from Charlotte. These kids are big time, baby. PTP'ers on offense and defense. The Big 12 better watch this kids!"
Flex: G1 L-8, G2 W-11, G3 W-12, 2 point bonus baby and another ranked opponent goes down!

It would be hard for him to do. There is usually a good chance that people might not re join the following year. There is no reason to give someone or other people a easier RPI because the new player might not be equal to the person he is replacing. This years is fair since they are the top 40 player points.
I meant to reply to this before. I think a team's prior season performance should be the biggest factor. I like the idea of this tourney being based on factors exclusive to the realm of a tourney. It's preseason rank and if a rookie head coach has to pay his dues than so beit.
Another alternative would be a hybrid of rank/previous season performance, but I'm fine with just operating within the realm of college hoops games.

I'll think about this over the off-season and probably move to at least a hybrid format...using last year's results was trickier this time because I had to step away from organizing duties last season.

Butler stays undefeated at home, winning Game 6 vs. Miss State 77-69. However, Butler lost one of the three periods, giving them their first period loss at home this season. Butler has now won a total of eight of nine periods at home.

After an abysmal performance to start the season 1-3, the Rutgers Scarlet Knights are making headlines as they upset #29 Washington 88-61, sweeping all three games of the series. Coach Knight was thrilled that his team got off to a quick start against the Huskies, knocking down some early 3's

and getting on the fast break. Washington showed some fight until the end, making the Knights earn this win throughout. Hopefully taking down a good team this early in the season will be enough to inspire Knight's team to bring their record above .500 .

As we write for the last time this season-Virginia is running out the clock and will end Villanova's streak at 21 games dating back to last years Championship run. It is a sad day on campus. The hope was we could continue the streak until the updated rankings came out, but all good things must come to an end. We will stop the chit chat and just play ball from here on out and just hope we are good enough and lucky enough to get back to the Final Four. As in year's past the tradition is not to deal with the press until the season is over after losing--since we will lose we are now ready to end the chit chat. Good Luck all--see you in the tourney.

You're going to have cameras on your doorstep trying to get a comment...the tabloids will be inspecting your trash can. You can't black out the media Highlander, you can only hope to contain it

Really nice run by the way...I'd have to run back through past seasons, but 21 games has to be a record.
