Re: Grand World Marathon 2010 [Round 15/15 - Conquer The Wor
Also, on a side note, I had planned a bigger version of this tournament for the 2012 edition, which had 20 rounds (instead of 15) and 216 players (instead of 144), to celebrate the addition of all the latest geographical maps. However due to the new rules, tournaments must be able to be completed within a year, so until this rule is changed, the tournament will unfortunately not run.

The majority of these games seem to be moving toward stalemates. Is there an alternative plan for ending the tourney?

The stalemates are getting annoying.
Can you formally announce the plan tupence so we can do tiebreakers.
Thx.

I'm all for tiebreakers, but I don't want to get in 6 more stalemate games. Can you put a round limit on them?

Replacement games for each of the stalemates have been sent out. Best of luck everyone!

There are games being played, anyway. "Active" is loosely used here.

How are scores being determined for these tiebreakers? Almost all of them are going to the 50 round limit. Does the troop leader after 50 rounds get 1st place points? If so, are the rest of the points determined by final troop count as well?

This tournament is now labeled "Needing Rescue". If it is not rescued within a week it will be considered abandoned.

Re: Grand World Marathon 2010 [Round 15/15 - Needs Resuced]
I would hate to see a 2+ year tourney abandoned during the final batch of games. If we can decide how to rescue it, I'll do it. The problem is that the final round has been a complete disaster, with the TO never explaining how points would be distributed in Round Limit games, and players just making their own assumptions. Now that most of them have finished, do we just stick with the assumption that final # of troops determines point placement?

Re: Grand World Marathon 2010 [Round 15/15 - Needs Resuced]
That's the assumption I've been operating under, as it's most logical. There's literally six rounds left in the last game of this tournament... all we need to do is compile the points.

Re: Grand World Marathon 2010 [Round 15/15 - Needs Resuced]
I have already updated the scoreboard with all the finished games.
I used the "strength" score at the end of the game in those games that went to 50 rounds, to calculate scores.
Strength is practically the same as troop count, with this amount of troops all other modifiers are almost insignificant.

Re: Grand World Marathon 2010 [finals]
My sitter didn't realize it was a round limit game and didn't cash in the final round.
Congrats, dowian2
