Well... Texas Tech, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State all play each other in the next few weeks,
while University of Texas is now past the toughest part of their schedule. So there may be more
one loss teams and it's quite possible that Penn State could still move up...

Colts win a tight one with the Pats... and it seems like years since the Jets and Bills
have been this close to New England this late in the season.

Yeah I know both Alabama and Texas Tech have a tough schedule still to go, but it is more like what I want to happen and not what is likely to happen.

Steelers vs. Redskins: Didn't expect that outcome. I thought the one interception for the Steelers was crap, though. And I'm a Steelers fan.

I only saw it when it was 6-0. Who won?

Well first half of Georgia game over. We may be winning but the defense looks pretty bad right now. Every time they run the option they get at least 8 yards because there's no one to cover the pitch. It also looks like Stafford's trying too hard to get the big play. There will be guys open underneath for what would most likely turn into first downs but he always goes for the guy 30+ yards down the field.

Georgia hangs on 42-38 after a touchdown pass to AJ Green in the back of the end zone with less than two minutes left and an interception in the red zone with :46 left on the clock. Definitely wasn't one of the prettiest games ever but they hung on and it was a pretty cool finish.

Yup... Kentucky had a chance to put it away, and didn't.

Meanwhile in a game that could easily be LSU up 14-0 Jarrett Lee has kept Alabama in it
with a pic to give 'Bama the ball on the Tiger 15 for their first score and another pic for
a Crimson Tide touchdown.

Yeah that game's looked good so far. It really brings up the question. Let's assume that both Texas Tech and Alabama lose one game but win their conference while Penn State remains undefeated. Who plays in the national championship?

Alabama and Penn State?

Texas Tech and Penn State?

Alabama and Texas Tech?

OR EVEN some other combination?

Midway thru the 3rd quarter... Alabama's offense finally puts their first drive together to score a touchdown and LSU marches down the field to answer... BUT... a Tiger receiver drops a 3rd down pass that would have given them a 1st and goal.

Lee's had a tough day, his stats are attrocious, but in his defense the LSU receivers haven't given him a lot of help as I've now lost count of all the dropped balls that should have been completions in this hard hitting game.

Meanwhile... Iowa 24 Penn State 23 and LSU just tied it at 21.

Awesome game. I guess it gives Alabama and Tech some breathing room.

AND... once beaten Oklahoma is up 66-21 over Texas A&M at the end of 3 quarters.
Texas Tech travels to Norman to play them soon, but they have OK St U tonight.

Alabama defeats LSU in overtime 28-21.

Edit: Make that 27-21. Since they never had to kick the extra point.

Well.... LSU certainly played one helluva game, the 'Bama opening drive made it
appear that they might run away with it. If the Tigers hadn't spotted them two
touchdowns it would have been a tough comeback.

Still... a great game. If the SEC Championship turns out to be Florida/Alabama?
I believe the Gators have been playing well enough to take 'em
and it should be whopper of a game.

No shortage of great one loss teams either... to make the BCS selections a real head scratcher too.

Texas, Oklahoma, USC, Oklahoma State, Florida, Penn State, Utah and middle weights Boise & Ball State
are all still in the hunt.

All I have to say about the SEC championship game is GO BAMA!

Hmm... I like to see these matchups...

Florida/Texas Tech... Texas/Alabama... Ohio State/Georgia... USC/Penn State

LSU/TCU... Georgia/Missouri... Oklahoma State/Boise State... Oklahoma/Utah...

or Oklahoma vs Georgia or USC

Other good match ups.

Florida/Texas

Florida/Oklahoma

Alabama/Texas Tech

Oklahoma/Alabama

If let's say an SEC team did face a Big 12 team in the National Championship. I think that is the best scenario as it will help prove a case for the winner's division being the strongest.

So the SEC Championship Game is set... Alabama v Florida.

The Big 12 still has some things to be sorted out... the North is most likely Missouri
but if Oklahoma beats Texas Tech in two weeks I don't know who wins the South,
since Texas beat Oklahoma and Tech beat Texas.

If Penn State loses to Michigan State then I think Ohio State is Big Ten Champs again
and if Oregon State runs the table (Cal, Arizona & Oregon) they are Pac Ten Champs.

From what I understand if it does result in a three way tie, Oklahoma will most likely represent the south. I'm not sure though as I don't know what rules the big 12 has in place for that kind of situation. Either way it looks like the national championship will most likely be between the SEC champion and the Big 12 champion (assuming that the north doesn't somehow pull out a victory).

Actually, I'm not sure that Big Ten projection is correct. I think MSU actually has a chance due to the crazy rules of the division. I can't really say for sure though.

Michigan State's chance to win the Big Ten is beating Penn State... and Michigan beating OSU,
since OSU whupped MSU 45-7, I do believe they hold that tie breaker. So if the Spartans can
remain the only one loss team they will be conference champs.

THE JETS RULE

Yo, if the Jets keep playing like they did this past Sunday, all of you will be weeping.
