Unit 2, seriously, what do you think - would you play a map with that over-powering background image? It's just too much. This isn't an art gallery.

what's wrong with having it just be a normal ocean like all sorts of other maps with water in them?

maybe you should focus on the playable area of the map... everything else - like text color - is just eye candy and is not as important as content.

I already got that, i just need to get the eye-candy down and its good to go.

Oh really? Can you post again the most recent map without the background effect?

I need the eye-candy before i can put the terrt names in.

Instead of a picture of something in the background, why don't you have the Sea of Japan and the Pacific Ocean. Then put South Korea and Russia on there for the dead zone. Your borders are a bit sloppy, and you need to put on the territory names also.

Alright, this is how I see it.

The continent colours are burning my eyes. Please change them.
The country borders look fragile and as if they'll break if I put more than 10 armies on it.
The backgrounds are stupid, don't do them. It just takes away what you need to do, and that's focus on the map.
You need to have army shadows.
A legend. Just show the most previous map without all the high-top backgrounds so we remember what everything is.

unfortunatly if your not using layers properly there is little chance of this map making it any further.

why?

By using layers, you can essentially change and improve your map on the fly...in parts. By not, you may have to start all over, or from a previously saved image. Basically no layers = Incredibly difficult production.
