mibi...crown for a king....great work...luv the map...its overgrown all titans gone before!
A simple solution to the legend making the map so big...is it possible to have the legend underneath the map as a downloadable/printable file link for everyone wanting to play...perhaps another game innovation to be considered...or something along these lines.

Seems like a good idea, but you have to have the Gods on top

Might I suggest (I'm going to anyway) that you just get rid of the whole top section. The gods/heros portion seems to make the map comnplicated in order to make things complicated. The lower section is good on its own. Why not stick with that?

i love it i was thinking of somthing similar to this only maybe a whole greek myth medditerreniian map with similar god power like ideas (mind if i copy) anyways maybe refine/clarify the process of conquering the altars but very good original and interesting nice age of mythology input if that was an influence

new mods but still the same size restrictions. i don't think they can do anything, but you can at least try.

Mibi...i'd dearly love to be able to tell you differently, but at this time size restrictions still apply to all maps. Sorry.

maps aren't about how good they look but about how good they play.
and to be honest if there were no gods in this map i wouldn't play it.
tha't where all the fun gameplay lays. the transition between the lower section and the upper section the powers of the gods and the bonuses of the heroes.

Of course you are right DIM...But alot of people would play it without the god's alters!! Im just trying to show Mibi away to get this lovely map published under the existing critea.
I also suggest you move ona dn forget all about large and wonderful maps for now becuse it aint gonna happen just yet!!

I'm just being facetious.
but seriously tho, I might just continue to work on and update this map, and when the size restrictions come around, which they will in time, with a progressively improving website, then this map will just be a hop skip and quench.

but what if the size restrictions are lifted in 1-2-3 years from now?
the map will be damn ugly by then and you'll need to redo the graphics

You'll also have to adapt it to the 3D standards of the foundry.

I also thought that the "non deployable" feature was axed out of XML updates. Wasn't that also a key to this map?

What if you cut the map down to just territories and pillars...
... and have legend info in an MAP LEGEND Subforum....
and simply download that image to your computer and have it open as you play.....
.... I know it is a horrible way to do it but I would hate to not have a map as wonderful as this never able to be played...
... this option could help many maps with the same poblems.... You could even have it open in a tab or something like that...
I'm just trying to think outside the box to help get large maps into the game... I also have one or two LARGE map ideas

having legends and instructions in a separate image has been suggested and rejected a long time ago. i believe it was in AoM thread it was the first time suggested since i had such a big legend.
edit. it sounds kinda weird. "i have a big legend" "my legend is bigger than yours" "hey guys, me and mibi have huge legends" "our legends are legendary"

the gods and hero's can now be set to neutral, which would take care of the biggest problem of people starting all up on my Olympus and such.

Well the issue now is if maps this big are going to be allowed. That's still very much up in the air with the current situation being no, but discussions have not ceased.
My public stance is still that we should just come up with some sort of protocol for breaking the size requirements, but the name of the game isn't do what Coleman says, so...

I would hate to see you waste anymore time on this map if it's not going to be playable for a while. You could do something just as cool that we could play much quicker.

My sentiments exactly.
