Urgent News From Madison Square Garden -
#1 Maryland gets upset by the un-ranked Texas Longhorns 81 - 65 in the 2K Sports Classic. Coach caz is quoted as saying "My team hit lots of open shots early in the game to jump out to a lead. Was proud that they did not let up even after they say Puffy and Jay-Z in the first row sporting burnt orange." Texas is hoping this victory will propel them into the rankings for the first time this young season.

In two consecutive games, the Rutgers coach Goldie Knight has been tossed from the game early due to double technicals, bringing back images of Bob Knight tossing chairs across the court. While claiming he's showing these outbursts of passion to ignite his team, there seems to be a lack of discipline from the players as they are getting blown out early in ballgames, and their late efforts are often in vain. Coach Knight says he will try his best to control his temper in this weeks games vs LSU, but cannot offer any promises if these losing ways aren't turned around soon...

IVY champs and sweet 16 darling last year, the Cornell Big Red is off to an impressive 4-0 start this season. After taking his previous team, the Oregon State Beavers to the Final Four 2 years ago, Coach J Law is hoping to take this group of raw but extremely savvy and intelligent kids back to the promise land. So far the big red is 3-0 on the road including a win over #5 Cincinnatti and it looks like Cornell is poised to crack the Top 20.

Wow--home court AOR 3 for Richmond--two quick starts--going down the stretch in one of them when the game was tied--the guard for Richmond fell down--The ball fell into Villanova's centers hands --he saw a breaking guard and hit him like he was Peyton Manning to Reggie Wayne. The game is not over but the streak looks to continue to 4 games this year and 21 over all.

Las Vegas, NV - The Longhorns came into the Thomas & Mack Center on a roll and left it on Fire! With a solid game plan and near perfect shooting from 3-point range the Horn's defeated the Runnin' Rebels 95 -51. UNLV coach Pfleegman did not mix words at the post game handshake when he told coach Caz "Nice a$$ kicking". Coach Caz was quick to admit that he had the early advantage (went 1st all three games).

Flex - G1 win in 4, G2 in 9, G3 in 4 - 2pt bonus

Clemson's coach, dowian2, is hoping the schedule includes a date with Villanova. When asked why, he said, "We're trying to boost our out-of-conference strength of schedule. And, we really want to shut up coach Highlander."

Colorado States coach seconds Clemson playing Villanova, for the same reasons as stated above. Heh. Also at this point it looks like it would be a good game.

The full season schecdule is now up as a google docs link at the top of Post 2...use the bottom tabs to find your league, then scroll to see your team...most are in alphabetical order by school from top to bottom.

Now that I have all the schedules finished, I'll be working on the RPI and Strength of Schedule #s for the excel sheet...all other entries on that link should be accurate though.

Also Game 1 results are all final and posted in archives...hoping to update more results soon.

AP Report, Austin TX - The University of Texas Longhorns dispatched old Southwest Conference rival Rice by a score of 81-65. Rice tried to slow play the Horns but Texas eventually put up some clutch 3's before the Owls rallied but it was too late by then. When asked about Rice Coach Caz said "I really like it as a side dish with beans when I eat the Mexican food here in the Lone Star State." The Longhorns are now 3-1 on the season.
