Isle of man looks better.
The letters... meh. I know what you're going for with them, but I think it may be better to just use ordinary letters, at least for the small version...

Really? I don't know I still think they're pretty cool, It's not like you can't tell what they mean or anything...

I'm not debating against their coolness by any means... I just find that on the small map, the detail of the ornaments goes to waste so to speak... The resolution of the small map just isn't big enough for all the fine detail in the glyphs.
Why not make them something similar to the font of your title.

Maybe, we'll see. Tomorrow though...

I have another suggestion for Isle of Man. You could put it like this:
Isle
of
Man

Because he doesn't like it on the right side as it is. This offers another option that perhaps Bison would like better.

If it is split into three lines, it will stretch too far south on the east side of the island. When natty suggested putting it all on one side, I thought it might look better if it were on the west (left) side, but it might mean shifting some of the sea routes.

Isle of man fine fine on the left side, I think it looks pretty fine there. The alternative lettering for the legend I do not think looks fine. I really think it's fine with the block letters. Their cool, they grab your attention. Sure maybe their legibility is debatable but everyone knows what they say, and if they don't they can just look at the mini map.

Ha! caught a small little mistake that almost slipped my attention. When I re-did the mini map I forgot to re-color Brittany to match the adjusted colors from the main map. Any way I fixed it now.

Thanks, hopefully soon. I'm assuming that things have been held up here because there's so much going on in the forge right now.

re: Naming regions in Galicia - thought this might help
Earliest known Celtic settlement in Galicia was that of the Saefs in the 11th century BCE. They were capable fighters; Greek historian Strabo described them as the most difficult foes the Romans encountered in conquering Lusitania. - of Celtic origin: Lus and Tanus, "tribe of Lusus".
The castros date from this era. In Galicia, a castro is a fortified pre-Roman, Iron Age Celtic village, usually located on a hill. These were circular hill forts with multiple concentric walls. Usually there was a trench in front of each wall. Major castros were built in the coastal regions of Fazouro, Santa Tegra, Baroña and O Neixón, and in the interior at Castromao and Viladonga.

DUDE! Awesome intel. I'm not home right now but I'll look into this later tonight. Thanks.

Well I looked into it a bit and while this info is all very fascinating, I'm having a hard time finding ways to convert this into territory names for this map. The Saefs were in fact a celtic tribe however I haven't found anything that ties them to a specific location within Galicia. Looking into the Lusitanians shows a little promise. Castos don't really help since that doesn't refer to a specific geographic location. Fazouro, Santa Tegra, Baroña and O Neixón all relate to regions in the area but have no specific Celtic tie to them.
So in short I might use some of this. I'll probably change a territories name to Lusitania. I could change a territories name to Saefs but it'll largely be a guess as to which one it should be (or rather it doesn't matter because they probably lived in all regions of Galicia at one point or another.) Again thanks.

I found a whole site that listed ancient Galician tribes and their locations. So yeah, I'm pretty happy with these changes. It makes that region a lot more authentic as far as the naming is concerned. Hopefully a stamp isn't too far off.
Obviously there'll need to be changes in the XML.

I'm still not happy with the bonus area names first letters. I know you're trying to do something fancy there but it just doesn't work at that scale. Now they don't look fancy, they look smudgy and unclear. Sorry for being so blunt.
Why not find a font that has nice looking letters but with less small details.

I don't know because you seem to be the only one who feels this way. As I mentioned before I'm quite happy with them. I might look around and see if I can't find something else one more time, but don't be surprised if I decide to stick with these.

No problem, just stating my opinion. If others are fine with them then that's that I guess. I just think you could do better... the rest of the map looks real nice.
