I feel like I am constantly making excuses on here, but for some reason real life has been hectic for a while for me now. As ljex said, I was busy over the weekend and yesterday attending the funeral of my grandmother. I am back and nearly have all of the data entered and compiled for the votes. I will have Dako and Incandenza look that over and discuss a couple of small issues and then they will be posted.

What is it they say?
-its cold half the year?
-are women are hot?
-our beer taste like beer, not pee?
-gravy and cheese on fries is delicious?
-not having to pay $60,000 to have a broken bone fixed in awesome?
Im not sure, they do say all those things about Canada.

I'd rather drink my own pee than a Molson or LaBatt. Also,
Coors Light is the #1 beer in Canada.
Sorry to get off-topic, but we gotta do something while we wait.

Tough to not reply to this one:
A. Coors Light in Canada is not the same as the stuff brewed down in Colorado. It is a Canadian brew. And it sucks.
B. I'm sure they are #1 in
sales, that doesn't make them our favorite beer.
C. Much like this Power Ranking (see how I brought this back to topic???) isn't merely based on stats but on perception and flavour, I'm sure Coors Light would be ranked far down the list of quality Canadian beers by the populous.
Dead Frog Ale rules by the way!

Thanks for the backup elfish, I appreciate it.
Coors LIght is def top in sales. Although, (being of a particular age demographic) I know only 2-3 people who actually drink it.
The really sad thing is, when Im drinking beer, its the cheap stuff (American) Bud or if Im really broke, Pabst.
Anyway, thats enough off topic-ness for me, I just wanted to know what they say about Canada.
Living way up here in my igloo, I have to ride a moose 40 kilometers (thats about 25 miles for you Americans) just to get to the closest internet machine to find out what you are saying about us.

I don't know what you are talking about (not aboot) as I've never tasted pee.
Here are the top beers in the world by sales....(which means nothing for taste)
http://www.foodandbeverageunderground.c ... beers.htmlAs for taste, we have the CBA's....and a lot of the micros do win.

I am a big fan of Moose Head... I was pretty underwhelmed by the other Canadian beers I tried (only 5-6 others, so a very small sample size)

First of all, Molson is awesome. LaBatt is shit. Coors light is shit, infact, if you're going to drink a light beer, just piss in your water bottle and call it a day. I'm of the belief that those who drink light beer do so because they can drink twice as much and not feel it (frat boy syndrome--I want to be able to say I drank a whole a 12 pack). I love Pabst from the tap (shows my poor taste I suppose).
Oh, and

That would be nice. As my favorite Canadian poet wrote, "When doctors become businessmen, who will we turn to for doctors?"

Oh, and rankings should be out at some point this weekend. They have been passed along to Incandenza and Dako to double check. This I know. From what Chuck told me, there were some pretty gross outliers that they needed to discuss.

Yapp, we have the rankings, I think they will be out in the first few days of the next week. Well, I'm not the one to promise it - but that should be near the truth.

The outliers they're mentioning?

See no reason why they should. 2010 was a good year for them, with strong performances in both Cup and League. They have an outstanding player in their ranks who, if available for all future challenges, makes them possibly the most formidable opponent.

This I think is part of the problem with having a ranking system that is all done secretly. Why exactly is it kept discreet? I personally can't see the downside in having each clan publish their 1-38 so that it may be open to public scrutiny and dissemination. It would certainly help keep people honest as well as feed the masses with info they'd be keen to know.

I agree, not that I think keeping it secret harbors some sort of deep conspiracy or anything. I can understand that this is your thing (Chuuuck), but maybe in the future having clans post their opinions publicly could "feed the masses"
Although, if this happened, it would bring on the, "why did you rank us under (insert clan here)" we are clearly better than them.
The anonymity of the process, I guess keeps it non-personal.
So sorry Ive changed my mind again, I am in favor of the current system, I just wish I could see results right now.
