What is the reason for the shadows after the armies of the countries.
Are they needed ? I don't like then.
The number says anought I think.
What is CC saying about them ?
Without them the map looks better

Looks like you've got your coordinates pretty well sorted. A couple I can see that are out though are De Kempen and Limburg. I'll look in more detail later, but they do seem pretty spot on.

What do you think of the army circles ?
Look at my item about it

Hm, well lets see.
In regards to the army coordinates, most areas don't really need it, but one thing you must consider... what will 'Neutrals' look like in West Ned.? Will they be hard to read, due to the similar color? If you can't read neutrals in that area, most likely you'll have to put army shadows in every area.
I'm also a fan on the curved arrows, perhaps you could play around with the look of the arrow a bit too, and try a few variations in style of arrow.
Also, I'd maybe adding a little more boldness/black to the name 'BeNeLux' so it stands out on the flags a little more.
Lastly, I was also a fan of the old brown bridges...maybe I was just a minority in that!

I don't mind armycircles/shadows.
I think its neccesary for playability and visuality.
But if men think its better without it see the map underneath:
Larger map :

UPDATE 18 (with XML)
Some suggestions that were mentioned:
- Armynumbers without armycircles/shadows.
AndyDufresne wrote:What will 'Neutrals' look like in West Ned.?
* The white armynumbers are well seen in West-Nederland.
Note: "Attack arrows" over the Monarchy borders are gone. You can vote which one you think better. See first Topic or page 17.
So let us know what U think about the map

I like it, although i think the older BENELUX font was better.

It looks better without the shadows, where are they needed fore.
If the fonts are good it is unnecesary.
The map looks better and less crowdy

This map may not need the army shadows, but blue in blue blends in a little bit, as does pink in pink.

Brown or grey bridges ? ok brown could do it.
I am happy with the dotted lines in the Wadden and over the Schelde, they are what the real world is
So if Andy likes the bridges brown, fine.
OK Andy I can't find anything else that does not looks what it supposed to.
So take this map to the playground, please
OK Pink in pink and Blue in blue could something better.
But let we give it a try and place this map without the shadows

Is MarVal really wanted, he could play with the colors of Zuid and Lux, so the numbers don't clash. Maybe even Noord also.
Is it just me, or are Zuid's names blurry? And is the legend also?

What Zuid names do you mean ?
The white on blue ? they are shining, I agree
Maybe Marval could do something with a darker edge of the font ?
In Lux I don't see any problems
West Vlaanderen armie number is not compleet on the top

Below the latest development of the map
BeNeLux.

UPDATE 19 (with XML)
Some suggestions that were mentioned:
- Adding a little more boldness/black to the name 'BeNeLux' on the flags .
- Brown bridges instead of the white ones.
- Full countrynames in map, but shorter in XML (see previous posts).
- No army shadows/circles.
- Other fontcolor of Zuid-Nederland.
- Other backgrounds/textures of the continents Zuid-Nederland and Luxembourgh, so the armynumbers will be better to see.
Note: "Attack arrows" over the Monarchy borders are gone. You can vote which one you think better. See first Topic or page 17.

I think you're either going to have to use shadows or change the colour of Noord-Nederland and Zuid-Nederland. I don't think they'd need much changing, just a little lighter.
I prefered the white text in Zuid-Nederland, but if you lighten it instead of adding army shadows again it might be a moot point.
Title could still use some clearing up. You must be getting so sick of these changes! If you perhaps add a thin outline/stroke to the text it might help.
Can't wait to play the map, it's looking great.

I think it would be better if army shadows were used. It's not bad without them, but the army shadows would help make the numbers clearer in certain territories.
Also the Dutch coat of arms does not seem to be aligned with the other two. I think it needs to move a couple of pixels to the right.

I agree with Ruben and WIsse, you must put army shadows, or to do hard work to change colors of some country, and i think that these not good idea.
