Hooray for Deutschland!
After the US, the Germans are my favorite team. I was able to find a secluded area with a TV at work and watched the entire game.

England will draw.
Of the last 13 world cup pening games england have won just 2.
I lost £10 yesterday, 5 on costa rica to draw germany and 5 on poland to turn around their crappy performances against ecuador

Well it's looking interesting so far... 1-0 England, Paraguay keeper's been injured, and about 4 people have been booked so far...

I hate early goals becuase you enevitably end up defending the lead for 90 minutes. Paraguay have looked off their game but Santa Cruz or Valdez could easily get an equaliser if they aren't closed down outside the box.
So I would like to see a 2nd goal from England to finish this one off or we could be in for a nail-biting last quarter.
I think Gerrard and Lampard have looked a little off form, no shots on target from either of them.

That's the lighter ball doing that, that is... Their volleys have all flown into orbit... Crouch should have won a penalty earlier... Bah... Two appeals that were good.

Lampard had one saved... but yeah, they should be winning by more than one goal, whether it's the ball's fault or not.

Germany didn't have any trouble with the ball, two wonderful goals.

it was just awful tactics, we ended up with a 4-4-1-1 strategy leaving crouch up by himself, who had no chance of scoring.

I hate it when teams play 1 up front...England have got good strikers & a great midfield that can score belters from anywhere
I'm looking forward 2 the Netherlands v Serbia, it should be quite good...

What a disappointing opener for the USA. What an amazing comeback for Australia.

Damn, USA got killed
3-0, mega ouch! I think we'll still fair well with the other teams, but taking 3 goals hurts big time.

2-0 to italy overall. deserved win
czech might be good, but i dont think they be able to handle the dark horses like at the quarter finals
