I just discovered that myself. Thanks for the report. I've sent a fixed version of the XML to lackattack.

I think the map is great! All those years of doing crosswords make me feel right at home, but it still hurts my head to have to think differently.....

One more issue..I cannot fortify OUT of 43 accross......great work!

I was actually playing with a floorplan / map layout of a large mall....another idea.

Thanks. Another fix has been emailed to lack.

The mall sounds like a fun idea: it reminds me of Dawn of the Dead. I suppose that in a map where each "country" was a room, each "army" would really just be a single person...

38-Down is isolated. Hitting 36-Across is considered an illegal attack move and 41-Across doesn't appear in the dropdown menu.

Hey Twill, let's play a game on this one and find out how playable it really is!

Ahh, lack updated. It really hurt to have a 7 army that was trapped in a no card game.

Just for the heck of it I made a really ugly version of the map that was a little clearer on showing country borders. The bottom continent colors look too light though.

Maybe the squares with numbers ("names") should have little arrows pointing to the right direction of that country, as in direct crosswords. It will help, I believe. The map would be more readable...

Neither have I.... I like the way it looks now, the direction of the number should be fairly obvious if you are paying attention.

The bonuses on this map are inconsistent. I believe that the bonuses should be ammended:

Red and Green Regions have the same number of territories, the same number of borders and for all practical purposes, are exactly the same, yet they have different bonuses +3 and +2 respectively. Why is this? This should be fixed.

Meanwhile Silver has the same number of territories and borders as pink and is given a +6 to pink's +4

furthermore, green has 4 borders and is only a +3

Cheers for this Wolffy...
I'm not sure why the bonuses are the way they are - it's possible that there are some answers earlier in the thread, although the Foundry was in its infancy when Jota made this, and less rigour was applied to development.

As some point in the future it is possible that this map will be revamped - I expect that any significant and unjustified imbalances (similar to your example) could be addressed at this time.

Cheers,

I'd just like to bump this and reexamine the inconsistencies of the bonuses in this map. I'm sure that it requires a lot of time and energy to update a map. I wouldn't know a thing about coding. But just to make those aware...BUMP

I think it is def time for a revamp here.

Some graphical ideas came to me in another thread:

NOT something like this:

If someone really wanted to try something amazing, perhaps an Escher-type rising staircase crossword could work?

We could try a kickstarter approach. I pledge 3 paypal dollars towards premium for a revamp.

I cannot attack from 15-Across. Not by clicking on the tert and not by selecting it from the list as the list doesn't give 15-Across as an option, even though I have enough troops to be used for an attack. It happened in this Game 16971891

MapInspect correctly shows the tert information when hoovering over it (the current owner/color and neighbours), but all actions are disabled.

Made a short video of the bug which can be seen here: https://vid.me/gWr8

I see the issue has been already posted here...some 10 years ago, but I find it still a problem.

15-across can attack 2-down... but in this case can't attack because is yours. :)
