other impassable borders to scatter round the board in an arbitrary fashion (think to myself "what would stop a postman getting round..."):-
fierce dogs
broken glass (bike-tyre punctures)
too many stairs to be bothered
an inviting cafe
finding something valuable in a letter (how would you display this on the map, though?)
Obviously most postpersons are really, really great, though. Especially ours ;o)
any more?

Walthamstow Reservoirs make it hard to get from E4 to N9 & N18 in the real world. so theres 2 blocked paths

Man, FBkins is all about digging deep in the foundry archives...

Suggestion: a lot of the maps that get people really passionate are not just geographical, but themed geographical. One way to hot up a London map would be to make a Sherlock Holmes London map. Though a decent London map could certainly stand on its own. Not so sure about the whole postal code side of things though - there's something kind of unsexy about mailboxes.

I'm not working on a map at all, but people like pictures to shape their suggestions, so for those of us who don't know what you guys are talking about:

Ooooh look.. i've found a new way of making the map easier to play. I've found a mountain we can add to the map (and it's connected to the map title)

Remember the River Thames  you could use that to seperate parts, and it only connects where theres a bridge

so far we have got for barriers: the thames (+ London bridges) and mount pleasant, and the walthamstow reservoirs.

Anymore?

If one of this sites best players has endorsed this map, why is it that it seems to of been dropped?

.SCuD. wrote:I really really like this map idea, it might bomb, but I think it could take off in a big way. Yes cards are going to be less relevant, but I dont think that is a big problem, in a 3 player game you are going to be getting large amounts of armies just for the number of territories held.

ok, I suppose I am inclined to think it might not work, but I think it is definately worth a try!

Im one of the best players here too, and I say "drop it".

Hmmm, not really... but I would like if you could choose: this map, or underground map... because 2 London poor graphics maps is too much, isnt it?
