Curious, though - you say "Match-ups to be determined by points". What does that mean, exactly? Are we matching up players with similar ranks, or opposite ranks?

I thought long and hard about this one, and went back and forth several times. You will be matched with opposite ranks always. Although I have made it slightly advantageous to be lower ranked, that should not mean it is a free ride. The idea is not to force a low rank through to the finals, so having a high rank still gives an advantage in the first round. After the first round, it goes to how well you are playing in the current tournament.

First round might be tough for some (we already have one player with less than 100 points and one with over 2200) however that is part of being an Underdog. And for the most part, stuff will even out.

Also, unless you only play 1v1 or never play 1v1, the scoring on this site doesn't necessarily hold. I know that I personally play 1v1 at about a score of 1000, although overall I usually hang out around 1600 points.

I'm in....although I don't know why Grimreaper. is joining all these tournaments, he's just going to deadbeat like always. And before you ask--I'm feeling very grouchy right now :P .

Added to this point.

Also, this is my first tourny, so anyone can join. I will create a personal blacklist of deadbeaters, who won't be invited again, but currently, anyone can sign up.

Besides, if a low rank deadbeats, it will likely be before the first game even starts, so the games will be unaffected.

im in but i dont know why you are letting player under 97% miss turn, that holds up the game alot when player are deadbeating

To be honest, part of the reason was because I could not think of a fair way to manage this. In the future, I will include an attendance requirement.

For this tournament, I have already built in some pre-tournament checks. One is the policy that you cannot deadbeat on communication PMs. This will allow me to see who is likely to deadbeat before the tourny starts. And also, the 1v1 format should move quickly enough, but there will be down time, as when match-ups are close and require more games as opposed to when one player sweeps the other.

I also had no idea people would be so concerned about this. It is something I am learning as I go, and am taking very seriously as I move forward.
