No problem!
I suggest a little fix in graphic:
Try to insert a graphical little fosse in the legend, so it's more clear that fosses are an impassable border.

i dont quite get the point of this map, when there is already a very similar map (with the same theme, but better graphics and layout) called Siege.

what else is this map bringing to the table that Siege doesn't already have?

In my opinion Siege has a different gameplay and graphic!
And finally i think that about your opnion we must have only one europe map, only one holland/benelux map, etc, etc.

Siege map has different gameplay and strategies. In my map there are the bombardement points, there is the Courts that are very difficult to defend, and the castle that is attachable from many territories.

Siege map has different grafic, not necessarily better. i think that is too much caotic, but is an opinion.

I think that there are many maps with a graphic badder than mine. I think that there are many caotic map, whith a gameplay too far from the concept of risk, made only to be "original". I think that many map whith bad look was approved only cause they represent a real territory and many people want to play on it (cause they came from it or they like that zone). And i think that a good looking map whith a balanced gameplay could be approved and beta tested. maybe it will much used or not, but there are thousand of players that don't read thoose treads, and someones should like to play on thoose fired maps.

Finally, i will change the pool, cause i have too many things to do in my life (other hobbies, work, and social life), and if people don't like this map is fruitless that i spend my time working on it.

so, vote if you want that i still work on it or if this idea doesn't have future. no resentement from me if nobody want this map. i can use my graphic ability to help someone else on drawing another map. ;)

For future reference, please could you add an updated image to the end of the thread, as well as the first post, as it helps people to follow the development, and will help people to tie comments to particular versions.

Personally, I think this map looks really cool, I think it is set up for some interesting gameplay. However, easy for me to say, I am not working on it. Might not be a bad idea to save it for later if you can't devote the time right now.

but the problem is not that i haven't the right time at now. the problem is that i don't want to lose my time working on a map that doesn't have future. ;)

if in this pool will not win the 3rd option, i still work on this map, otherwise i will work on another one. ;)

Don't listen to the poll... all it shows is that the naysayers come out in force in the ideas and draft forums. It's been like that for as long as I have been here. These same people sit on their rear ends and contribute bugger all apart from their negative opinions.

The gameplay of this map is very good, I think the graphics need work, but that's the way with all drafts. What you think looks good now, when compared to what you have in 2-3 months time, will not hold a candle. Trust me, graphics have a way of improving over time :)

Keep going with this map, it has potential, and could be one of the more balanced maps on the site.

in this days i'm at my parents house for christmas, but when i come back home (first week of January) i will keep working on this map, cause i like it and i want it in beta. ;)

one question, you tell that my map has a good gameplay and strategy, but you talk about the version 2.1 or the 2.2?
and please, help me on improving this map, tell me what i may change and how i can do it better. i mean, that when i keep on working i need people that post on this topic. the reason because i think to throw this idea it was the poor partecipation, so if somebody like this map, help me and post his ideas!

Um, version 2.1/2.2? Lol I don't see either. I see version 4 lol. The one where the moat is simply an impassable. The gameplay there is very nice. You need to redo the bonuses though, they don't respresent the difficulty of holding the continents properly, but that is something that gets discussed a fair way into the process around here.

I think you could do away with Mountain 3 and extend the legend down there, give it some more room to work with as the instructions are kinda squashed together a bit much.

The bridges would be better as gatehouses I think, and adding a wall on the inside of the moat would be nice for aesthetic purposes. Castles were sometimes at the heart of villages, so the court area might look nice with a scattering of huts and stables and such. Check out Feudal War Revamp in the Map Foundry to see what was done there, and how much nicer it made it look.

The graphics around the outside are largely unnecessary (the bales of hay, cacti, etc), and also don't fit the style. I would say do a rework of the textures of the lands, then start thinking about graphical images to add on. It is easier to narrow down additional graphics if your foundation graphics have a distinct style.

ok. i made a new version with a test new graphic. it's only a test, so many things are not the best (for example i like the cactus so i keep it, but i don't like the wheat balls and for now i keep it only cause with cactus and without balls it's looking bad.. and i don't like the water too, but for now i didn't find something better) and i wait your opinion and my ideas after a good sleep to improve the details of this map.

but first, tell me if you like this way or i must try something else for the graphic.

because the cadapults can only bombard one spot, i think that they should either be able to bombard the territories in opposit quadrent or the two adjacent quadrents, just throwing that out there

Personally, I think it would be nice if the territories/regions had names instead of numbers - but only because it lends more to the imagination...

These are only suggestions:

The Fields could be
    1. Wheat
    2. Oats
    3. Maize
    4. Barley
    5. Rye / Ryegrass
    6. Oilseed
    7. Cotton
The forest could be:
    1. Thicket
    2. Wildwood
    3. Forest
    4. Woodland
    5. Coppice
The mountains could be:
    1. Heights
    2. Ridge
    3. Peak
    4. Precipice
    5. Pass
    6. Range
The desert could be:
    1. The Flats
    2. Wasteland
    3. Barren Land
    4. Wilderness
    5. Quicksand
    6. Dunes
    7. Savannah
The courts could be named for kings or queens, or seasons, or different types of garden?
The towers could be named after their quadrant: "Mountain Tower" etc.
