If the "points" are only going to be one teritory, even though you have three black dots, I would suggest having only one black dot and calling it "the Point"...or if that is confusing for some non-hockey people, call it "the Slot"

thats what i was wondering- if i should make the 3 "points" separate territories or just one. see first post
so what do you think it should be?

ya i need to make the connections between territories still. suggestions would be appreciated
as for names, i dunno, so if you come up with something better, obviously post it
keiths31 wrote:I think just one.
so should i call it "the Slot" , "the Shot Slot", or something else?

should the blue area be changed, because the blue armies are hard to see on it:
[bigimg]http://img145.imageshack.us/img145/3645/stadiummap4oc8.png[/bigimg]
and there should probably be a mark showing that the zambonis can attack eachother...

ill give suggestions once the high graphics draft is in

for now i dont think i can comment on the 88's because i think its too early, the map is going to change from those certain colours and things so you need not worry too much about putting the 88's in to make them look good/stand out

Why don't you just call it Ice Hockey?

then do you have suggestions on the colours, if they're gonna change? what other graphics do you think needs improving?
i need suggestions, not just statements!

(to improve the map anyway...)

All of your graphics need to change, period.
- The ice rink needs to have a decent enough off-white reflection that it looks...icy
- The zambonis would be good looking like real zambonis. I suggest finding a blueprint of one and duplicating an outline of one, then coloring it. That's what I do for my small pictures
- The seating needs to look like seating, with appropriate shadows and "stairs"
- The restrooms need to not be stark white. In general, don't ever use stark straight white unless it's text, and even then consider using another shade
- The hockey area territories seem shoved on there, as you fix up the rink, fix up the positions on the rink so it looks good
- The legend needs to lose any and all exclamation points. Any funny bonuses (Zambonis) will be understood and quietly snickered at all by themselves, you don't need to emphasize it. To my knowledge only two maps use exclamation points: Siege! and D-Day: Omaha Beach!, and that's in the title alone
The above should help drop your 2D "I did this in paint while bored at school" look from the map. You've got a pretty decent idea lurking under the third-rate graphics, so I wish you the best of luck.

this is hockey, why would there be grass?
hockey is played on grass in suburban areas and a type of astro-turf with a coat of water when in stadiums.
i might put money on the aussie women to win gold at the olympics.
in the U.S. hockey is played in hockey arenas, ice arenas, the like. Never on grass. Sometimes people will play hockey on concrete scating around on skates/roller blades tho
uhhh? field hockey you mean?
anyway... i volunteer for graphics, add me on msn, or email me, supersquirrel33 at hotmail dot com... iwanna help

sure... i just e-mail you the map and you will take it from there? just so you know, its a fireworks file, so if you don't have that program or don't like it, you should start from scratch. just make sure you add my name somewhere on it
reply yes or no if i just e-mail you the map...

Since certain spots on the Ice can attack the stands, and vice-versa, might you want to make them bombardments instead of straight attacks, since the players can't actually get into the stands, and the fans cannot actually get onto the ice?
