I know.
For me it's mainly Common, The Roots, De La Soul (though hard to find) and lots of oldschool.(Before all this ridiculous bullshit with them all talking about how much diamonds they have and how much they're making with selling crack. Seriously, they talk like the average crackdealer doesn't make about the same as a McDonalds employee!)

Mainly rap, though I listen to everything else, doesnt really matter to me. Though I enjoy it when I can make out the words of songs, which is why "Soulja Boy" should never be mentioned in this thread...

Lots of things, but no rap or pop, and practically no country/folk. I basically hate almost everything mainstream.

All kinds of rock, but mostly classic rock, alternative, indie, industrial some Metallica... and lately I've been listening to a lot of Radiohead.

I also listen to some classical music, probably because I play classical piano. I especially love Bach.

Rock. Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, Soundgarden, Audioslave, Velvet Revolver, Guns 'N Roses, Metallica, Led Zeppelin, Linkin Park, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rage Against The Machine... a few examples of what I'll listen to.

For clarification, I meant genres, not specifically bands. :?

Thank you! The roots are great too. I have yet to come up with a CD of theirs but every time I go cruising with friends its always being played. Old stuff. Good stuff. Tupac and Immortal Technique are also good but they're a bit more vicious.

From Old School (example: Led Zepplin, Rolling Stones, Black Sabboth) Rock through the 70's (AC/DC, Aerosmith) Hard Rock scene, classic metal like Iron Maiden, and 80's hair and thrash metal (example: Guns 'N Roses, Megadeth) to Nirvana and more modern metal like Godsmack and Linkin Park.

If it is Rock or Metal, Odds are I like or I would if I knew about it.

Mostly, 60's and 70's rock. As a general rule of thumb, I say hell no to 80's rock, I can't stand it...with some exceptions of course (Queen, and some other bands that carried over from the 70's to the 80's).

Also, I like Reggae, and Blues. I don't really like much country, but I do listen to some rap. I love Damian Marley - Road to Zion feat. Nas especially...if you consider that rap. I also don't mind 113 (haha...french rap - which I find to be surprisingly better than most American rap even though I don't really understand what they are saying).

Everything minus country and a good bit of techno, but I can handle a little bit of that. My preferences are generally from harder pop/rock to the heavier stuff. Plus extra doses of Outkast recently.

Maybe he means the terrible modern RnB like Dru Hill, Jodeci, Destiny's Child, etc?
