i'm not pushing my luck or asking for anything, i'm just saying that huge maps would be an option. what's wrong with having more options?

i don't like vanilla icecream but i don't mind seeing it on the market. i won't buy it but i will also not forbid others to buy it.

i like the chocolate ones and i appreciate the fact that nobody is telling me what flavor to eat.

and gimil said something about democracy. you got it totally wrong mate. it's actually lacktatorship :P he tells you what to play and what not to play. he makes the calls not the people (which is wrong in my opinion)

lack has the power to conduct surveys on all the people on CC. i don't understand why he doesn't.

if he wants to add huge maps then he simply sends 20k emails and tells people to click on a lick if they agree and on another if they don't. he sees the totals and makes the decision. in that info he would also include a description of the change, the advantages and disadvantages and so on.
i think it would be the best way to make decisions.

asking for opinions in the forums is kinda pointless. how many people vote in a suggestions thread? 50?100?200?
i bet that if he sends 20k emails he'll get at least 10k votes

Scrolling - This map is larger then the standard 630x600 small and 840x800 large dimensions so some scrolling may be required to view the entire map depending on your resolution.

In that case, mine map can be quenched these moment, because you can see all map and attack buton without scrolling.

yes but you must be using a higher resolution than the CC recommended.
I think I have a solution for qwert's map to get it down to size, but I doubt he'll like it. Or anyone else for that matter, but at least it would let the map move forward. I also am pretty sure I see a way to make the current 840 wide instead of 850 wide.

Lack prefers only to send out specific mass e-mails...I don't see this being one of them. I know your position DiM, I've read it for months and months! :)

What are the disadvantages to huge maps, they dont offend anyone, those who dont wish to play them are not being forced and more options can only make this site better. I dont understand as mods why you forbid them.

Well, talking just with the current system these are the ones I know.

Disadvantages:
    1) Freestyle success if same timing is going on favors users with a higher resolution if we have larger maps.
    2) Unsuspecting users could accidentally end up in a super huge map.
    3) Server Space
*** 4) Display warps poorly (this is the biggest one, past 840 goofy things happen on a lot of resolutions, this could be fixed or reduced soon)
    5) I have it on good authority a large map killed lack's cat and kicked Andy in the shins.
A note to make with 4, I don't know what the big deal with really tall maps would be with the current display, but it's still something we currently aren't allowing just the same.

Sorry for sort of breaking off discussion, but...

Huge maps could work if we only make the large version include legend, and all that miscellaneous stuff, not needed to play; while the small version will just be the map itself- not title, legend, etc.

Huge maps would only work if the action bar was moved to the top so you don't need to scroll down every time you want to advance armies to kamchatka.
